Basically- it's a cult role that I

It's the sort of role I wish I had come up with, except I think he did it better than I would have :v
Just looked at that role, it's pretty awesome.

Nominate wolframnhart for
Best Come From Behind Victory
for Empire Records Mafia

He lost both of his scumbuddies on Day 2 and lasted out to Day 5 against quite a few PRs to pull off the win.

Starbuck - he didn't really manipulate any of us...

he just fell by the wayside with kise and stayed put.

Edit: don't get me wrong, he did well, but I'm not sure the nom is the right one.

Don Corleone wasn't the one I was looking for, I was moreso thinking "Best Performance in a Losing Cause", but it's not listed on the front.

Or Best Come From Behind Victory?

There needs to be some type of category like that.

Actually, hell, I'll nominate it...

Nominate
Best Come From Behind Victory
to be added to the categories.

Come from behind victory is a stupid concept. Most of the most impressive town, scum, or 3rd party performances involve winning from a near-impossible situations. I don't see the need for a separate category.

Actually a lot of them involve complete decimation of the opposition, like perfect games and such.

Truth is, the best kind of scum play never gets nominated for anything, because it's so subtle that even after the game is over the town never realizes what happened or why they lost, and the townies usually just come away thinking they played badly.

The kind of scum play that gets nominated for stuff is usually the kind of big, flashy, impressive gambit that's really awe-inspiring and memorable, but scum usually only have to take that kind of risk if they've already screwed up big time.

Best performance by town.

Hit scum everyday. At the end of the game, there were 6 dead townies, and 7 dead scum.

Disagree. At least in terms of the individual awards. For the team awards, sure, not losing anyone looks good. But when you're thinking about Don or Paragon,
if the oppo doesn't get anywhere near any of your buddies/goes down in order, it indicates to me they didn't play that well.

The best performances are those where the opposition doesn't play badly at all, and might even think they've got everything all figured out, but you still somehow manage to pull it off. In scum terms, I'm thinking cases where your scumbuddies self-destruct, or get investigated, or crosskilled, and you pull off multiple mislynches on your own. Perfect scumgames aren't that rare, really.

And yet somehow my victory in WOMAFIA was completely overlooked in 2008. Despite losing TWO SCUMBUDDIES in one Day/night period, thusly having to engineer like three mislynches on my own.

By that criteria I REALLY should have been nommed but never really got it.

Ah well, that's like, 2 years ago, so it doesn't really matter. I guess I'm just a little sour cause that was my first good scum game and it just got ignored.

Well, as a matter of full disclosure, in 108, it was decided by Ellibereth and Zach that they would bus me before the game even started - I really think that the fact that we were behind at all was of our own making. Personally, I don't think I could accept the award in good faith, although I would be fine with Zach and Ellibereth getting it if they wanted it.
My posts are best read in the calm, reassuring voice of Morgan Freeman. I don't sound anything like him, but they sound best that way.

Temporarily retiring following the end of my current obligations.
