There won't be anything of use coming out of the remainder of today. If Charlie flips town, I will be sadly surprised.

All right. That's cold, but understandable. Is a lengthy defence case from me going to change your mind then?

Nobody likes having a vote placed against them, but if we all unvoted when asked nicely, nothing would ever happen in Mafia.

A defence case would be good, but this close to deadline it would need to be mind-blowingly spectacular to change my mind. I'm not going to risk a no-lynch.


If either of Broken or Kyiv is prepared to hammer - I can't see us getting much more useful information today. Deadline is almost upon us - 24 hours to go - so whenever you want to pull the trigger.

You helped him out more than you realized. It was so frustrating getting lynched when Kyiv was still possibly scum and everyone wouldn't touch it.

I tried my best to change somebody's mind after BrokenBlueprints claimed, FoSed me and almightybob voted me. Pretty much everyting I said in between that and lynch scene were an attempt to mess with everyone's mind. It was a desperate move in desperate times, good job no one fell for it

Kyiv pretty much nailed it with her case on me in #589.

It was a different experience replacing in a scum slot. And made harder with a whole bunch of evidence against my predecessors sitting in previous posts.

Anyway, this wraps up my second game. Any comments on my playstyle/overall gameplay? Or how I could have handled the situation better?

When you first came in, I thought you seemed pro-Town. You started well, but after the massclaim your arguments went to pieces. Learning to keep calm under pressure is something that comes with experience in Mafia.
At that point, your best bet would have been to scour the thread and form a case against Kyiv, since he was the other main candidate for lynch. This might have got you into LyLo, and if you'd taken boberz and myself you probably could have persuaded him that I was the last scum.

I don't think there was much you could have done better, Charlie. You replaced into a rather difficult position. Your predecessors had been rather suspicious, whereas a lot of pro-town players were extremely difficult to lynch. Killing me of night 2 was definately the right choice, because my analysis of Kyiv, almighty and LastSurvivor as town, plus boberz replacing in very strongly, meant that I would be going for you day 3 certainly. The other players had slightly more doubts.

the only thing you possibly should have done different is your behaviour day 3. Pleading simply isn't going to persuade anyone in mafia. You might have gotten a lynch of Kyiv (there was a certain amount of suspicion against him) or Almightybob (boberz was rather focussed on him). However, to achieve that, you would have needed to fabricate a strong case, and shown quite a bit of conviction yourself.

Apart from Medix, the play of all town players was good. There was good reasoning, players were willing to listen to each other. Perhaps massclaim on day 3 should have happened a bit earlier, but overall, well played.

Hot damn.

I rode on MS's back this entire game. From the "This wagon [Medix] isn't scum-driven" to the "AB wouldn't bus". Only thing I didn't use him for was the quick case on PD.

No worries PD; I like a good challenge, although people seemed content with guessing that I wasn't scum. For the record, my case on LS was to get him to take a stance... probably shouldn't wait until Day 3 to do it, but I was fairly convinced Kunk was the last scum D2 =( (Sorry kunk!) Good effort Charlie! (though you definitely should tone down the pleading).

Speaking of LS... I seem to drive people away from the game when I make a case like that... makes me feel bad =(

I find it funny that the only game I have won as town so far is the one I was lynched before endgame. Apparently the secret to town winning is to lynch me early

Thanks to all the replacements! Even Flareonage - who decided to leave for epicmafia.

I think every single replacement made some type of impact in the game upon replacing in and many of you completely changed the mood of the role you replaced. I was very proud in the way that many of completely turned things around from how they seemed to be heading in your first few posts of coming in.

Don't be down on yourself. You convinced almightybob that you were town. You never were under serious threat of being lynched. And you were part of the winning bandwagon. I believe that definately deserves a well done.
