The sentence in parentheses and the sentence before it are not mutually related.
We're policy lynching CSL if there is noone scummier in the first 7 days. That has nothing to do with the statistics of day 1 lynches.

I like Annachie's most recent post. I agree with it. Also, how would people decide which lynch is "better", if it isn't really a comparison?

I think Elli is a bit too obsessed with getting people to post.
Elli wrote:And why aren't all of you participating right now?
It is anti-town to not participate in this pregame!
Quotes like these don't really help anyone. Upon seeing that post, I don't start thinking 'Oh, I must post immediately, because otherwise I'm being anti-town!'. You mentioned pre-game activity already. The only thing posting over and over will do is up your PPD.

Yes it does. D1 lynches are hard enough to get scum with, but you are pushing a random lynch, which with scum knowing who to targets aren't really random.

It can be hard enough to get a lynch up with the posibility of a no-lynch. Imagine when there is a default random-lynch on the table.

If you have reasons, real reasons for pushing CSL cough up because I believe that random lynching is inherintly scummy and you are advocating a random lynch.
I try not to sign things. It just encourages people.

No, seriously. What is up with these "Policy Lynches?" It ruins the game for everyone, especially the one getting policy lynched. That is why whoever policy votes anyone is immediately getting my vote, or HoS.

Who the hell came up with it anyways?

I don't. It's lynching people due to past performances, or grudges. That's Personal Vendetta, as in, not lynching because of scumtells, or stuff that you are SUPPOSED to lynch people for, but because you don't like the person, and want them gone. Play the damn game, or go buzz off. You have your choices, now make the right one, and do it right, or get hunted down by myself, in a mood so bad, you'll be wishing that you never suggested policy lynching in the first place!

No ho ho.

I agree we should lynch about as often as we can, but keeping the scumkill-to-lynch ratio as optimal as we can get it also involves making good, informed lynches. Policy lynches aren't based on the likelihood of a player being scum and are rarely as worth it for anti-town metas as people say.

Pushing for policy lynches is rarely scummy in and of itself but doing so while pushing for keeping the lynch-ratio high is scummy.

I agree with my other fruit's point on Elli as well.

Policy Lynching = Scummy.

Reasons: Lynching a player you don't want in the game. Mostly a VT, whom, in the long run if you find yourself at lylo, you'd be wishing you didn't Policy Lynch.

tl;dr: Lynched player more than likely turns up town, and might cost the game.

That's why I think it's scummy, and thus earned my [Pregame] Vote.

Why do you find it so important to point out these are pregame votes and HoS's, rather than real ones. At the end of pregame, they are real votes. HoS's are just as real now as they ever will be.

Allow me to word this in a way that gets more to my point: perhaps you just don't want to look bad by throwing around "real" votes and HoS's before the game starts, let alone seemingly OMGUS votes and HoS's?

DRK: Eh, I'm just recognizing the situation for what it is. It doesn't affect things one way or the other, because (as you said) Elli's still my top suspect and earning my vote when get one; this is just a way of saying that.

@ DRK: I deny that I don't want to look bad. They are my thoughts, and, as such, are subject to construcive criticism.

@ Plumegranate: More likely Anti-town, actually.

I wont say policy lynching itself is stupid.

One player in annother (live) game says that good policy is to lynch him D2 after he has given his reads.
One I see a lot is to policy lynch people who claim Miller.

But I didn't see any reason for a "Policy" lynch on CSL, and none was provided. So it's random and I think random lynching is inherintly scummy.

On Jan 5(?) Zor wipes the votes and we go live and at this stage I'll be voting Elli.

If she's so dead keen on having a backup lynch or whatever she calles it straight up, let it be her.
I try not to sign things. It just encourages people.

People need to read this topic: http://www.mafiascum.net/foru/viewtopic.php?t=12914

Policy lynches ARE NOT anti-town. The purpose of one is to get rid of the people here with an anti-town play-style. CSL has an anti-town play style.

Has anyone here played with Xyl before?

I grant you that on occasion policy lynches aren't anti-Town; I happen to think that this is rarer than you think. But anyway, what's the basis for saying CSL's playstyle is so anti-Town he should be lynched on sight?

Well I must admit, that thread Elli pointed to did mention CSL as a policy lynch target, but there were a lot of opinions against such policy lynches too. From people here that I respect.

Good look at his history and read his posts. Or just skim any of his completed games. While you look for pro-town play, I'll be hunting for a purple boar that flies and eats flaming pineapples.
