Well, we can protect our most pro-town players by putting them in the safezone along with a couple not-so-protown players. That way (if scum decide to shoot inside the safezone), we'll save our most protown player and make scum NK someone we might be suspicious of.Nacho, do you see any pro-town benefit in using your ability?

that benefit sounds completely negligible compared to the risk of finding a scummy player "really really pro-town" to begin with, coupled with the WIFOM of not knowing whether the people who died died because they were randomly selected, or because they are the only (or one of the few) townies in there.Nachomamma8 wrote:

The safe zone just seems like a way for mafia to keep other scum from getting dayvigged. If we vote scum as the Gatekeeper then they'll likely move all their scumbuddies into the safe zone. And the safe zone doesn't protect from NKs or lynches, so it doesn't block any mafia actions.
Randomly voting the gatekeeper is risky but since it does reduce the amount of time the scum get to talk pre-game it's the best option right now. I know it's too early to be doubting other players but for all we know Cobalt's "random" vote might not be random at all :/
And I am taking this game WAY too seriously atm. Geez, me, this is too early to be doing all this speculation!-

If the gatekeeper actually tries to use the safe zone, lynch them as only scum has any reason too.Parama wrote:The safe zone just seems like a way for mafia to keep other scum from getting dayvigged. Though we should be careful about lynching the people who were put in the safe zone, as scum might try putting townies there as a gambit.-

Hi everyone.
GAT: Nacho
Still thinking about theory behind safezone- there has to be some way it can be useful. Maybe defending powerclaimers from a NK?yabbaguy ~ Winning without actually winning.

Stuff a claimed [cop] with two other plain majority and diffuse the odds of hitting them, for example. Maybe even increase the odds by further adding more majority members. That complicates minority's job, and makes it more difficult to kill the person they're after.
So I'd start stashing majority away asap to begin this process.
By the way, if I'm melting your brain already, I'd suggest playing Candy Land instead.yabbaguy ~ Winning without actually winning.
