Open 187- Silence of the Yams! Over!

It would have been an ordinary day
. Instead, Parts found Nana face down in a tin foil pan of her legendary candied yams. The rest of town heard his screams just before dawn and were soon assembled at Nana's Bake Shoppe.

"What the hell happened?" cried ectomancer.

"She wasn't like this when I punched out last night." said Cat.

"One things for sure: We need to get to the bottom of this," said Xscorpion.

"Absolutely!" agreed CSL, and after pulling Nana's lifeless body from the pan he pulled out his spoon. "They're terrible when they're cold!"

Game rules:

1. This game is open format and has a day start. All role pms will be provided in one of the opening posts.

2. Play nice. If you have any issues we can arrange a sit down with some tea and biscuits.

3.
Bold all communication to the mod. This includes Votes, requests, etc. Unvotes are not necessary, but are appreciated.

4. No talking outside the game thread unless your role pm specifically states that you may. If it does, you may communicate until the thread opens.

5. Send night actions in by the deadline. If you want to take no action, let me know. The quicker I get actions in, the quicker the game moves.

6. Prods will go out every 48 hours unless I recieve a V/LA pm or bolded message in thread.

7. If I make a mistake, let me know. I'm only human. Or at least that's what they told me at the lab.

8. Lynch is reached with simple majority. Said majority will be posted in the "Top of Page don_johnson Vote Count".

9. Once majority is reached a player is lynched. Dead players do not speak during twilight and are not permitted a "bah" post. This goes completely against the idea that the player is, in fact, dead.

10. If a majority is not reached by deadline, the result will be a NO LYNCH.

11. No colored text, please. No invisible text. Be aware that flavor is meaningless fluff and is only meant to amuse.

12. Have fun! Be considerate. This is a game.

Bird C9 (Open 187) - 2 Mafia Goons, 3 Townies, 1 (Macho) Cop, 1 Doctor
(7/7)

Role PM's

Townie wrote: You are a townie. You have no special powers, but you can vote. You win when the scum are gone.
(Macho)Cop wrote: You are a cop. During the day you appear as a normal townsperson, but at night you can investigate one player. PM the mod the name of the player you wish to investigate. Oh yeah, you're tough. If the doc tries to protect you, you'll brush 'im aside. You win when the scum are gone.
Town Doctor wrote: You are a doctor. During the day you appear as a normal tonwsperson, but at night you sneak out with your Fisher-Price medical bag and try to save the world. You may PM me the name of one player whom you wish to protect each night. You will hang out outside their house and if they are shot you will rush in and save them. You win when the scum are gone.
Mafia Goon wrote: You are a thug. A gangster. You care nothing for the law. Unfortunately you and your partner, _____, are outnumbered. During the day you need to try and blend in, but at night you may talk outside the game thread. Your gang may submit one name to the mod via pm each night. As long as nobody screws up your plans, that player will be dead come morning. You win when you outnumber the townspeople or nothing can prevent it from happening.
Role PMs are out! Game will begin when all are confirmed!

As the last one to see poor, beloved Nana alive, Cat seems suspicious.

vote: Parts
- parts supposedly "found" nana, but I believe he had just recently found her. We should probably check for rigor and COd.

can we get an autopsy on this chick?

no. you may not. flavor is for entertainment only and has no in game relevance other than enjoyment(yours and mine). her face, however, was quite melted by the time you found her. :) - dj

I have pneumonia. It gives me the perfect excuse to try out the role of active lurker. I've never been able to pull it off. I always end up as one of the most active posters in game. Wish me luck!

I was wondering...do all of you have less than 6 months mafia under your belts, or are these alts or have you played mafia elsewhere before?

Posted: Mon Dec 21, 2009 1:55 pm
by ElectricBadger
I'm not an alt, no.

Planning to be a lurker distresses me.

Unvote Cat, Vote Ectomancer.

Also, my autopsy reveals she suffered an acute case of DEATH. Almost always lethal.

Also I'm kicking off all the bandwagons. Lol.

Less than 6 months of mafia experience for me indeed.

FOS: Ectomancer
for announcing active lurking.

Less than 6 months but you pay attention at least and have caution.

What would you say Parts if I told you that in my experience scum tend to use an
fos
at nearly twice the rate of a town player?

Posted: Tue Dec 22, 2009 10:29 am
by Parts
I'd say that's nice. How do you think it applies to me?

Posted: Tue Dec 22, 2009 12:00 pm
by Ectomancer
It doesn't. Thought you might find it interesting though.

How reliable do you actually find that tell in practice?
