I haven't had the chance to fakeclaim cop as scum yet, but when I did get the chance, I planned on 'clearing' my buddy (obviously not now that I've said this). The WIFOM is just too much to resist. I don't see why you say it's a bad idea when site meta is showing otherwise.
Anyway, the reason for why I'm voting you has nothing to do with farside's result on you and everything to do with your reaction to farside's claimed result on you. Unsurprisingly, I'm disregarding the WIFOM as evidence for or against you. The fact that you're using the WIFOM to defend yourself is scummy as hell, though.

For the non-idiots, reconstruct the whole scenario and tell me where it makes sense to believe I'm scum. Meta though it may be, you have to believe either (a) this was an incredible plan from the beginning, or (b) my behavoir was one of someone who ACTUALLY BELIEVED she was the cop (hence the now-useless debate about mafia framing)

Anyway, whatever else you believe, believe that SC is town. 469 is gutsy as hell, and would in no way have been made by scum, considering many of us (like me) believed the claim and had begun to move other directions, and others were likely to be swayed if the hammer didn't come. Had SC not made that post when he did, I do not believe farside would have been lynched.

How farside22 would implicate you by "clearing" you is very simple: she likely knew who was tailored, and all signs point to you as the one tailored. You were quick to believe her false investigation, and you've been very defensive lately.

Rereading farside to see if there are any partner tells coming from him.
Rereading jazz to see if there was any breadcrumbing from her (although a first glance shows that she went after farside pretty thoroughly yesterday).

Farside was buddying up to Kitty all Day 1. However, Kitty then uses this as evidence against farside. Would scum point this out so readily? Then there is the serious WIFOM from his "investigation" of Lowell. Both of these give a high amount of WIFOM. I'm pretty sure that one of these two would probably be scum.

It looks to me like Jazz investigated farside... she had no town reads at all, so she did not get a town result. And she started off voting farside, which means if she got a scum result it was on farside.

Buddying up is a tactic, usually used by members of the Mafia, to try to make yourself look less threatening. Typically the Mafia member will try to be friendly in some way, either outright or, more often, subtly. If the Mafia member is ever lynched at some point, and other players have noticed the buddying, it tends to throw suspicion on the person the Mafia was being friendly towards, thereby causing confusion even after the Mafioso's death.

Buddying up is a tactic used by scum on town, typically, nhammen...so I really don't understand what you're getting at here.

Technically yes but I want to be 100% sure Lowell is scum first. If he isn't then the whole game plan changes and the people who might look scummy to me now for being friends with Lowell could be the wrong targets.
But to be a good townie and not fail like I am in my other two games I'll try not to lurk. I'm assuming now that everyone who voted Farside is town. This means we have:

As the potential scum. I've marked out Lowell as the obvious choice for #2, leaving nhammen Starbuck and Suave. Of the three, nhammen seems the most townish to me, Starbuck hasn't done anything yet, so if I had to make a wild stab I would point the finger at Suave.
