Uh, no. I didn't get lynched. A bandwagon started. I voted you because it ISN'T random and I was just upset that people didn't like true random voting. I was also interested in what oman was going to say later. But I am not trying to lynch you.

Mafia won't usually get onto the bandwagon early together. They will try to split their votes. Attack one another to Distance themselves. But won't both start a bandwagon because that would look suspicious.

Oman, what you said about mafia not wanting to "throw down" the last 2 votes, so they can remain off the radar makes sense complete sense. But I'm envisioning that if the mafia get on the bandwagon early, not that I'm accusing you and greendude of that that maybe other newer town players will be more jumpy in this early stage and may want to get that day one bandwagon lynch.

Its close, except the WIFOM argument only works where there is equal payoff for both sides. Getting one townie lynched to lose both mafia isn't a fair trade, its not worth them doing it, and therefore its not really WIFOM.

As for the fact that you're pretty much freaking out her Hi, welcome to mafia. Its important that regardless of anyone's alignment you don't take it personally. No-one wants to be the D1 lynchee, but someone will be.

Anyway, its all just a party, and I am getting closer to revealing something as we push further forward.

Thanks for your replies guys and sorry if I came across "freaked out" or overly defensive. I thought my post was pretty impartial, sorry if what I said to Greendude looked like I was trying to imply something, I just misunderstood what you meant in your post, and for that my apology's.

I think my first newbie game killed any sense of what I think is the right thing to do in the random vote period. We had this one person who was really active and making scum claims all over the place. After about a page, all the discussion was centered around whether that person was scum or not. Now as I look through this game I just see a bunch of noise without any scum or town tells.

To answer Darkstrike's questions:

1. I have played 1 game here, and a few at another site (the one in my sig.)
2. I have never played as scum before at this site but I get the feeling that I would enjoy it immensely. My fellow TeamLiquider AGar finished up a beautifully played game as scum recently that looked like it was a blast for him to play, as I think Darkstrike can attest. The first game I played as town at mafiascum was fun, though, mostly because I was right about both lynches in which I had a say.

BTW post 23 is a slight town tell for playplay IMO. If I were noob scum I would have freaked out a little after Oman's post.

Heh, don't worry. Most newbies tend to be very "leaf in the wind". I certainly was. Its common for them to be flimsy or to shift a vote around often.

Its helpful to the town because the worst thing to happen is for the IC to influence the newbie's opinions based on experience rather than merit. It happens a lot! Instead I let some discussion go past then ask a question like:

What? I've posted plenty of times with reasons to back up suspicions. I even answered Oman's question before he asked it. In fact the only time I didn't explain myself is when I said YOU were suspicious.

if ox1de means that the mafia will kill playplay because the town knows he is likely town then I disagree. The mafia shouldn't because they are expected to (now), and a possible doctor should protect that person.

@oman: If player A claims cop and says player B is guilty. But then player A is lynched and the town finds out he was scum. Then Player B most likely is town. Because player A probably wouldn't risk lynching player B if he was scum. Unless it's his master plan.


I have a little theory:

If oman were scum. Then A: he tried to protect his partner playplay.
or B: He will then kill playplay in the night and in the mourning say I told you so. And everyone else would go: Hail mighty Oman!!



It's just a possible theory. But I'm just saying that I like to think for myself, instead of others.
