1) A majority of the votes is required to lynch a player. Votes are made in the format
Vote: Playername
. Votes that are not in this format will not count. Unvoting (in the format Unvote) before voting another player is appreciated but not mandatory.

2) During the Day phase, players will discuss and vote until a player has been lynched. You can vote for a no-lynch, which will end the Day phase with no lynch, using the format
Vote: No Lynch
; this also requires a majority of votes.

3) Once the vote required to reach a majority for a lynch has been cast, that lynch (or lack thereof) is set in stone. Unvoting will not undo the lynch, and the game will enter the Twilight phase.

4) During the Twilight phase, players (including any player whose lynch has been decided) are still allowed to discuss, but votes will be ignored. The Twilight phase has an indeterminate length of time, as it is simply the length of time between the actual lynching vote, and the death scene/thread lock.

5) During the Night phase, you may have special abilities - see your role PM. If actions are not sent in within three days (weekends counting as one day), your action for that night will be forfeit.

Activity

6) Any player who hasn't posted in three days will be prodded. From there, they have another two days to open their prod. After three prods, the player will be replaced. If two days pass, the player will be replaced.

7) If you know you will be inactive for more than a two-day period (weekends counting as one day), please inform me either in thread or by sending me a PM. Posting in the V/LA thread is meaningless because I don't read it.

8) Each day will have a deadline equal to the number of players multiplied times 3. This will be days=3n, where n=number of players.

Miscellaneous

9) Do not discuss this game outside this thread, unless you have a role which allows this. If you have a role that allows you to discuss this game outside this thread, do so only as the role PM allows you to.

10) Once you're dead, don't post. Period. Not even a "Bah" post.

11)
Blue
is my official moderating color. Don't use it.

12) If you want to get my attention, it helps if you use bold, as in "
MOD
: Can we get a votecount?" For the record, I'll be editing in votecounts at the top of every page.

13) Don't piss me off.

14) If you disagree with a decision I make, I will likely be amenable to discussing it... privately. Don't pollute the thread; send your complaint or request to me via PM.

REMEMBER: The cop is immune to Doctor protection!

Setup in a nuthsell: 2 Mafia Goons, 3 Townies, 1 Cop, 1 Doctor

Role PMs.

You are a townie. You have the amazing power of voting and...uh...talking...and...that's it. You win when all threats to the town are eliminated.

You are the cop. You may check each person to determine if they are mafia or not. You win if there is no mafia.

You are a mafia goon. Your partner is Player A. You win the game if you equal or outnumber the town. Each night, you may kill one person as a group. You may talk with Player A at location X.

You are a mafia goon. Your partner is Player B. You win the game if you equal or outnumber the town. Each night, you may kill one person as a group. You may talk with Player B at location X.

You are the Doctor. You may protect one person each night. You win when all anti town players are eliminated.

Vote: Yabba

For not confirming and not making an immediate random vote.

I did confirm for the record, it's just that I did it about a 30 mins-hour ago. Did I faux-pas on a technical (not strategic) level by not waiting for the mod to asterisk me?

@muzzz-7: I'll answer that question legitimately.

I did it in my first newbie game, but to me, it seems that sometimes the point of a vote that fizzles out by page 3 at the latest is a concept I can do without. Last time, it got a hapless newbie to eventually spaz out and get himself lynched as vanilla D1.

Alternate method? Poking fun at another random vote.

Vote : No Lynch

Why waste time.

Not confirming and late confirming are pretty much equal in this case.

Why do you think you can do without random votes? Are you sure you understand the RVS completely? And do you really think a single failing newbie is any reason to dismiss the RVS?

@BC: are you suggesting we no-lynch today, or are you just scared to make a random vote?

I could, but I won't. Does my vote on him bother you?

by Charnel
well, if you gave the reasons, I would be a lot happier with it. Since you said it was for real... I figured there were reasons.

There are reasons.

but if you are protown, why wouldn't you give them, so I could see how awesome your vote is?

It should be apparent.

Charnel: it's in exceedingly poor taste to try and tear down a wagon. I like baltar's vote and I understand the reasoning.

I know you're trying to be helpful but it would actually be better if you simply hopped on the wagon or waited until he has a chance to respond. The reasons for the votes will become clear to you after he wakes up.

@muzzz-10: Late confirmation is null, it was midnight for me when the role PMs came out.

I already explained my case for not random voting. You have that answer. Truthfully, no, I was slightly exaggerating when I brought up the case of the flailing newbie.

Yes, I feel my RVS knowledge is sufficient. What I also don't like is that sometimes it can be construed for a serious vote. I can't really tell if your vote on me is joking or serious, morphing into a serious vote, whatever. It has me a bit on edge.

@muzzz-11: Do you find the lack of a random vote scummy?

@Baltar-19: Do you get annoyed if you have to answer an "obvious" question?

@hohum-20: This sounds like a post that was made without the Preview button hit.

-baltar did reply
-it's L-2 already... so i find it strange you're asking for more on the wagon.

What are the consequences of people trying to tear down a wagon? The way you're talking, I'm assuming these are drastic consequences, the fact that it's in exceedingly poor taste to do this, according to you.

Posted: Thu Jul 23, 2009 8:31 am
by hohum
I know exactly what I'm saying and doing.

I'm aware that he's at L-2. I'm also aware that another vote would put him at L-1. I would be absolutely fine with that, because he's in no danger of being quick-lynched any time soon.

Now for the love of god, will you please let him respond?!

I guess I can wait that long.
