This is perfect for this site. All the players will gather in the arena and have a multiplayer battle royale! We can have as many players as we want!!
I throw a full-roundhouse kick, with my right foot, directly at his jaw.
Attack Player X: Spin + High Attack
Pictures may be used with your attacks for added excitement. It is important that while the cards will determine the result of an action, thatthe player actually describes what they are doing. This adds to the flavor of the game, so that play is not simply an exercise in mathematical card arrangement. In any game, the more you can vividly picture the action, the deeper the experience of playing.

1) Players will randomly start in one of the nine locations above.
2) Players can only attack other players that are in the same arena space.
3) No cards are required to move on the map.
4) Movement is done in-thread (e.g.Move:{North, South, East, West}) but the move is not official until the Mod has updated the player list to reflect it.
_4a) If a player attempts to move but is attacked before the move is processed, their move order is voided.
5) After each move (once per move until they attack or are attacked) players may discard any cards they wishby PM with the Mod("Discard:{card, card, etc.}")
6) Diagonal movement is not allowed.
7) Movement is not allowed by players whose status is "Engaged" or "Intra" (see rules below).
Players have three potential states:
1)-- Not currently engaged in any combat.Neutral
2)-- Locked into a death battle. This is accomplished byEngagedattacking a playerorbeing the recipient of an attack.
3)-- Re-grouping after a surprise attack. This is accomplished byIntraattacking someone who is attacking someone else.
Engagement
[O] Intra state players are considered Engaged but are waiting for the next phase shift at which time they will enter into Defense mode.
[O] Once players are Engaged they will be listed in this post as a group for easy reference. Players must remain Engaged until only one player (orone sideof the engagement) is left standing; that player (those players) will then assume a Neutral state and their strength will be fully restored.
[O] Engaged players form a microcosm that is governed by alternating Attack & Defense phases.
[O] Engaged players must wait between phases for the Mod to process and update their status before continuing.
[O] Engaged players may only attack players they are engaged with.
[O] Engaged players may not switch sides in an engagement. Once they enter an engagement they must remain on that side until the engagement is over.
Game Flow
[O] The attacking player(s) states a target (or "No Attack") in thread and plays one attack card at a time (Exception: Movement cards can also be played to modify an attack).
[O] The named defender(s) has 24 hours to either play a defense card(s) or post a "No Defense" order. If the defender is being attacked by more than one person, they may play multiple cards to supply for the defense; one card may be used to defend against multiple attacks.
[O] Following that, the attacker(s) may either play another attack card or post a "No Attack" order and then immediately assumes Defense mode (while the defender(s) assume Attack mode).
[O] After each player side is allowed to Attack & Defend, players have 24 hours to discard any cards they wishby PM with the Mod("Discard:{card, card, etc.}"). Dice are rolled to determine the initiative for that new round. The player(s) that wins the initiative may choose to Attack OR Defend.
Surprise Attack
[O] Players that are attacked while they are in attack mode (i.e. surprise attack by someone outside of their engagement) are required to abandon their attack and post a"Defend:{attacker name}{card(s)}" order and abandon their attack statusa "ORNo Defense" order and they will suffer the full damage from the attack (however their own attack will also go though and they will maintain their attack status).
Sample Engagement
Player A, B, & C are in the Center arena. Player D is in the North arena.
Player B moves: "Move: North"
Player A attacks Player B by posting, "Attack B: High Attack".
(Player B's move order is void and now must post a "Defend" order.)
Player C joins Player A and attacks Player B by posting, "Attack B: Low Attack".
(Now player B must defend againsttwoattacks.)
Player D posts a move order: "Move: South".
(Mod prods player B who now has 24 hours to respond or will auto-post "No Defense")
Player B defends:"Defend Player A & B: Dodge"
(Mod processes these commands by posting the successful dodge in-thread & updating this post)
Player A & C post: "No Attack"
(Mod updates this post placing A & C into defense mode & B into attack mode)
Player B attacks Player A: "Attack Player A: Spin + High Attack"
Player D surprise attacks player B: "Attack Player B: Special Attack"
(Player B must post a defense or accept full damage from this attack, Player D has now joined with Player A & C)
Player B decides to accept this attack: "No Defense"
Player A defends: "Defend Player B: High Defense"
Player D posts: "No Attack"
(Player B maintains attack status, Player D enters defense mode, Player A takes 2 points of damage, Player B takes 3 points of damage)
Player B attacks player D: "Attack Player D: Power Sweep"
Player D plays "No Defense"
(The Mod updates the thread and Player D takes 1 point of damage and falls!)
Player B plays "No Attack"
(All players have 24 hours to discard by PM with the Mod and all players will roll for initiative. Only the highest roll total from Players A, C & D will count.)
Now the above example lacked "color" with the moves. An example of excellent color would be:
"I throw a full-roundhouse kick, with my right foot, at his jaw.Attack Player X: Spin + High Attack"
The Mod reserves the right to add color to make the game more fun (however, player added color will be respected).
