The Rules:
(You know the first rule of combat? Shoot them before they shoot you.)

(Etiquette) This is a game so have fun and play to win. Don't let things get personal and try to watch the language.

(Voting) During Day you may vote for the player you want to lynch. Votes should be in the form
Vote: Player
or they will not be counted. It is helpful to "
Unvote;
" when switching your vote to a different player, but this is not required.

(Lynching) Whenever a player has a majority in votes that player will be lynched, his or her role will be revealed, and Night will begin. You may also decide to
Vote: No Lynch
and a majority of No Lynch votes will end the Day without a death.

(Deadlines) Each Day will begin with a 3-week deadline (21 days). Players can ask for deadline extensions, which are granting subjectively and based on activity levels. If no one has reached a majority at the deadline, the decision with the most votes will occur. If two decisions have an equal number of votes, the decision that reached its final vote first will occur. (decision = player or No Lynch)

(Twilight) After a hammer, decision, or deadline has passed you may talk as long as the thread is open but no further votes will be counted. Power roles and people who can talk at night can start their business at twilight.

(Night) During Night, players with role abilities may PM their night choices to the mod. Choices are due by the posted deadline (typically 72 hours), but the next game day may start earlier if all choices are sent in early.

(Conflicting Night Actions) In the event of conflicting night actions (i.e. a mutual roleblock, or deciding kill flavor when someone is targeted by multiple kills), priority is given to whoever PMs the mod with the action first.

(No post editing) Don't edit/delete posts. You shouldn’t be able to anyway. Use the "Preview" button to look over your post before you submit it.

(No PM quoting) Don't directly quote a PM from the Moderator during the game. Don’t quote a fake PM from the Moderator. You will be mod killed if you do.

(No Jesters) Nobody is a jester or a survivor. If anyone starts up that discussion they will be sufficiently whipped. :D

(Outside talk) Read your Role PM to know if you are allowed to talk outside the game thread with anyone, and when you are allowed to talk. If it doesn’t say anything about talking with players outside this thread, then you are not allowed to do it.

(Bah post) If you are killed, you are allowed 1 unrevealing "bah" post the next day. After that, you may not talk until the game is over.

(Prodding) I will prod inactive players as I see fit. You may request a prod on someone if they do not post in 72 hours. If a prodded player does not open the prod PM within an additional 72 hours he or she may be replaced. Until a replacement is found the player facing replacement can return to playing the game. If I have to prod a player 3 times during the game, I may replace them.

(V/LA) Treat this game as a commitment. If you expect to be unable to post in the game for 72+ hours, please send me a PM or state your V/LA in thread.

(Sample Role PM)
You are a
Vanilla Townie
in the White Tiger Crime Syndicate. All you have is your vote and your wits.

You win with the town when all threats to the town are eliminated.
Here is the game thread: Link (in the sub-forum: Coney Island)
Confirm in thread and start posting. Good luck.
(One Last Thing) For flavor purposes the town (uninformed majority) in this game is sometimes called a mafia, or more specifically a crime syndicate (The White Tiger Crime Syndicate). The threat to the town in this game is called scum; bounty hunters; the crew of the Bebop.

(Questions) If you have any question, complaint, or comment, post in
bold
but remember I am only a data dog. Woof.

Radio Free Mars

It is the year 2071 yes sir. It’s been fifty years after the gate accident and the Solar System sure has changed. Have you heard about those eco-terrorists that got trapped in hyperspace and turned themselves into monkeys? Yeah, I heard it all started over some tussle at a restaurant that served sea rat. Disgusting I know! Yeah, some ex-ISSP and some ex-goon from the Red Dragon syndicate were involved… I think.

Well what about that time an old weather satellite orbiting Earth started blasting strange markings into the ground? I heard a net diver caused it by the name of Radical Edward. You know what I heard? Poker Alice, queen of hearts, the lady luck herself robbed a casino a while back for the tune of 30 million Woolongs! Can you believe it? We’re sure living in some strange times; it’s hard enough being in the mafia.

Now we gotta deal with having our names and faces up on Big Shot every night of the week. Sooner or later some goddamn bounty hunters are likely to show up and try to bring us in. Us! The White Tiger Crime Syndicate!

[These scenes are 100% flavor and do not give any insight into the game.]

Day 1 begins now.
With 12 alive, it takes 7 votes to lynch!

Lots of players I've played with before, some new faces, and a couple I'm excited to be playing with for the first time.

This should be a fun game.

I think I've played with only two people from the player list (in mafia games.)

Most of the names seem pretty unknown to me.

Hmm... Day 1 has already started... and we have a crowd of experienced people around...
Let's try something different and see if we can avoid having a random vote stage. [/geek]

@ShadowGirl: Am I scummy for suggesting that we skip the RVS in favor of revealing discussion?

@VP Baltar: What do you like about the player list?

@Rhinox: When sprayed on windshields, do you cause rhinoceroses to bead and roll down the glass?

Yes, This cast should indeed be fun. Many new faces for me. People I have played with are in bold:
2. VP Baltar
3. forbiddanlight

4. ShadowGirl
5. don_johnson
6. charlatan
7. Zilla
8. Juls

9. Gorrad-modded one game I was in

10. Rhinox
11. Vi-Talked to Vi in MD&GD before

12. ZEEnon
And I suppose I could count Shadow Girl as someone I played with before since I played with her in Jahudo's Mish Mash game BreadScum. Should be fun being with her in another Jahudo game.

Well, I am glad you are in this game Vi. I tend to like your playstyle, even if I've only played in one ongoing game with you. I read another game with you in it as well(can't recall specifically, you were a GF and got boned) and I tend to get some chuckles from the sarcasm.

Rhinox and I have a beef to settle, so that is fun. :)

This being Pokerface's return is cool...even though I've never played with him before.

And, just from recognizing names I've heard of forbidden (in an ongoing), ShadowGirl, Juls and ZEEnon.

As a relative noob, it's nice to get in a game with people who have some experience under their belts.

Until I re-read the begining posts I had not realized day had started without completing all confirms. I believe now is a pretty good time to start things.

For what reasons do you believe it is good to claim miller this early Juls?

Because if you don't and you claim later people are all like "why didn't you claim in your first post?!?!?!" I will dig up my old game when I get back from my finals tonight but I really hated having this role last time and it was one of my very early games and I didn't know how to play it. So, now I know.

Meh you can play it either way. Claim at start or when prompted. I've tried both on IRC successfully.

What matters is how and more importantly why you claim. Not wanting to get yelled at about it later is a poor reason especially since you don't know if you would need to claim later if at all. There are better reasons for wanting to do it early vs doing it late. I'd prefer you told me one of those.

Sorry, I wish I had a glamorous reason but truth be told, I quit the site for a while over that game and it had a large part to do with the berating I was getting for not claiming in my first post. I am less sensitive to it now, but I think it is a good play. If I wait until investigation and claim then you won't believe me. If I wait until L-1 and I claim you won't believe me. If I wait until mass claim time and claim you won't believe me so this is the best time in my opinion.

Only one I'd auto hate on would be you claiming after getting investigated. You could always breadcrumb or better explain such a role in those other scenarios.

Wanting to avoid suspicion later = bad reason

I'll look at that game you mention and see how your story checks out though.

hmm questionaire time

2.
VP Baltar
= As a new player would you claim early or late if you were a miller
3.
forbiddanlight
= Weren't you the mod of the insane asylum game? What do you think of Juls claim here in relation to it?
4.
ShadowGirl
= Should we ask for flavor with Juls claim at this time?
5.
don_johnson
= What merit if any do you see in how or why she claimed?
6.
charlatan
= What are the cons of claiming miller early
7.
Zilla
= What are the cons of claiming miller later
8. Juls = already questioned some good luck in your finals
9.
Gorrad
= What are the pros of claiming miller later
10.
Rhinox
= What are the pros of claiming miller early
11.
Vi
= Is this the first game you have played where you didn't want a random voting stage? If so any particular reason you didn't want one?
12.
ZEEnon
= Which do you think is better, a random vote stage at the start or a discussion stage

Bonus Question addressed to everyone:
Do you believe her and why?

I'm pretty sure I remember reading a game where she referenced quitting the site. That was awhile back, but I don't know the circumstances around it. If that was the case, then yeah, I do.

Pokerface wrote:10. Rhinox = What are the pros of claiming miller early
I'd say the biggest reason to claiming miller early is so a cop doesn't waste an investiation on you. Perhaps there are more/better - I've certainly seen the "when to claim miller" thread and can go back and parrot some pros, but I don't think I've been in a game with a miller before so I'm not sure the best way to handle them.
Pokerface wrote:Bonus Question addressed to everyone:

Since I've been in so many games with Juls, I would say I don't think its in her nature to try this kind of a gambit as scum. However, its possible she'd been planning on trying it ever since that last game she linked to. Again, I don't know a whole lot about millers.

Do you believe her? and what do you think we should do about her?

Not sure what I think about intentionally trying to avoid the random voting stage... but in this case, it seems... natural.

Also, anyone know anything about this Cowboy Bebop TV show? Until I got my role PM, I assumed we were all gonna be ridin' steers and square dancin'. Yee Haw!
