Tournament - Xdaamno Won!

I’m looking for eight players to play a game.


The Game:

A chess tournament and a poker tournament were accidentally scheduled for the same place at the same time. The players that had signed up for the various tournaments are understandably confused, but they have decided to go on, combining the two tournaments into one. The same people win the tournaments every time anyway, and this might provide some variety.

Rules:

1. Each player is rated on both skill at chess and skill at poker
2. Each round any player may challenge any other player who has not yet played in that round to a game.
3. Once a challenge has been issued, all players have 24 hours to vote on what game they want the two players to play. In the case of a tie, the person challenged may choose the game.
4. The person with the higher skill at the game chosen wins and moves on to the next round.
5. If someone has been eliminated, they may continue to vote on games until the round in which they were eliminated ends.
6. In the last round, all players may vote on which game the remaining two players should play.
7. Feel free to talk amongst yourselves both in the thread and in private. Make deals if you would like.


Sign up if you are interested. Skill at both games will be randomly determined once the game starts. The higher the skill at one game, the lower the skill at the other i.e. The best player at chess will be the worst at poker and vice versa.

I want 8 players. People will be re-ranked at the end of each round.

This is great game for me as I'm great in poker and horrible at playing chess.
I do know the mechanics of chess but I just always played terrible.

I normally have a secret weapon when playing poker which I don't think will work here . But still, I'm /in

Because of the re-rankings, I don't get how this is anything more than random. Since the skills are blinded and everyone plays only once before the re-ranking, there's no opportunity to infer the players's skill level at each game.

You do realise you don't actually play the game you just need to convince people that you're better at one thing than the other?

You do realise that by that I meant that if 1 was eliminated everyone would bump up a notch so 2 would now know that they are the best yet in the old game they do not know however I am considering not doing that because I just thought. In the old game they did not know the ranks of the eliminated so for all rank 2 would know rank 1 was still in the game.
