Looks like someone trying to set up newbies to me.

@johann, take your vote off yourself. It's idiotic and not at all clever.

To be making these kind of jokes at post 78 isn't really helpful to the town. The whole point of early game voting is to apply pressure to players and see what happens....maybe scum will out themselves, and maybe a townie will start looking around for better scum targets. Do you really have no one more likely in mind than yourself?

Well, that was fun, I come back from the weekend and find I became the subject of a very random bandwagon, and now the wagon is on one of the wagonners. Good times.

Not sure why we're speculating on the off-world folks yet, it's not going to help progress today any.

Vote: Lowell
Didn't like his reasoning for the vote and coaching above.

DYH - Interesting that Dean Winch voted you, the bandwagon votes appear, he then unvotes you, gets a couple of votes of his own and now your defending him. I didn't think scum would appear that obvious but hey hoe.

Please explain to me how announcing a random vote (with plenty of "real" votes flying around) works with the above philosophy?

Nor I, but that reasoning against Lowell to some extent assumes he's trying to coach a newbie scum and take the pressure off him, which relies upon johhan being scum, so I prefer to continue against johhan and get his claim before making any further judgments on this.

Makes for the base of a bandwagon on Lowell if johhan does indeed come up scum, though.

@RafK: Not necessarily, he could be trying to make himself look better by distancing from this wagon should Johhan get the axe and come up town. Given that he's one of few newbies in this game, the likelihood of his lynch is possibly worth the gambit.

To continue, I'm going to leave my vote on Lowell for his earlier behavior and now notably his OMGUS vote of me which he justifies based on Theo's misintepretation of my actions. I was clear that I was voting Lowell for the reasoning of his vote and the coaching, not who the vote was cast upon. In fact, that's irrelevant. Take a look back-

Johhan is being waggoned, he comes along and self-votes and the reaction from Lowell is:

* to vote for Dean for trying to 'set-up newbies'.

* coach Johhan to 'take it off, it's idiotic and not clever'.

He coaches Johhan, defends newbies (and considering the make-up and state of the game, it's not a reach to make this specific to Johhan) and pushes attention off him all in the same fell swoop. For someone who just committed a cardinal sin of mafia (self-voting), that's a strange reaction. Like, "inside information" strange. Be it newbie town or newbie scum I get the impression Lowell knows something concrete about Johhan. And the simplest answer for that is because Lowell is scum.

This whole post is insanely scummy, esp the last paragraph. Is this veeeery basic meta-gaming supposed to make me think you're not mafia? This post reads as How To Play As Mafia 101. You're setting up useless scenarios, distancing, and guising your OWN fear as my irrationality. Nice try.

No, actually, it's a pretty "basic" summation of your behavior and my thoughts on it.

Randomly defending newbies, in my experience, is typically a scum tactic more often than not. Townies don't like to link themselves to inexperienced players of unknown alignment. Scum like to do it because when the newbie comes up town, it can make them look better.
