I can't complain too much because, sure, we knew the day had been going on for a while and we should have checked when deadline was due, I suppose. But I do think it's pretty shitty to provide a deadline reminder in every single vote count except those at LyLo. Even shitty towns get their act together when there's a reminder.

RC and beast played well, were hard to read until it mattered and lurked very professionally at the end. I can't imagine I'd take much pleasure in winning that way as scum but I can't fault you for seeing it through.

And that's all I have to say about that.

Yes, I failed to post deadlines in the VCs. I don't have to do that, though, and it's not on me to hold town's hand through everything. Scum were well aware of the deadline, so why couldn't the rest of you be aware of it, too?

No, you don't have to, but you do create a certain amount of expectation when you do it in every previous vote count. As I said, we are of course capable of checking it ourselves and we should have done. I think both town and mod should have done better.

despite the town being absolutely correct in their assumptions, and the two scum essentially being lynched in all but votes, the mod ends the game and hands the scum the win.

So because the town "would've" done something, they deserve the win? Sounds like sore loser talk to me. No one on the town took control of the situation.

I understand it only as petulance. Now, you want to get pissy at the Mod for not having deadlines in VC, that's fair. That was probably an oversight by him. I didn't notice it myself (but neither did the town).

But let's just have a post count for D5:

beast: 9
UT: 9
CDB: 18
LLD: 11
RC: 8

So, yeah, we were active enough, and four of those posts (2 from LLD and 2 from CDB) were after the deadline. The town had ample time and activity to make sure a lynch went through. I mean, hell, LLD didn't even cast a vote until the deadline had already passed. So the Mod was generous to even allow that.

I realized half way through the day that the best strategy was to lurk the rest of the day out. LLD and UT were only too happy to oblige that. They're both big boys that checked into this thread multiple times before the end of the game.

For what it's worth, I do think that was an unfortunate ending. I defer to the Mod's discretion as to how to approach the situation. I think I'd have been understanding had the deadline been extended, but I think he's well within his rights to end the game as well if only because the entire day was rather stagnant. It seemed like UT and LLD didn't really care all that much honestly (until LLD at the very end... after the deadline).

So, yeah, I fully acknowledge it as a technicality and I don't take nearly as much pleasure out of it... but given LLD's response, I take much more joy out of it than I otherwise would have. The town has some legitimate criticism of Reck, but it can be presented in a much more civil manner (like how you and UT did).

And to sit there and insult beast is really uncalled for. beast did nothing wrong here. beast did nothing but play the role he received. I valued the contributions of both of my partners.
