Tracker had no nerf, IC had no nerf, Seraph had no nerf, Vig's nerf was practically non-existent, Commuter was standard implementation, ABR's was nerfed because it would be so horrifically OP otherwise. GS received a useless nerf... Masons got a relevant nerf and that was it for nerfs for town. Meanwhile, scumteam was so fucking weak it was ridiculous.

True, Cerb. But it would still have been very effective if it had worked.

Yeah. Gunsmith innocents would have been correct like 85% of the time in this game, barring the bus driver. Without reason to believe there was a bus driver, the innocents should have been trusted to a certain point. Once other aspects of the setup came out, there should have been a certain degree of suspicion, but completely ignoring the innocents would have been a very unusual decision.

And yes TSO, I agree. The Seraph could have wrecked things.

I think I'm a little burnt out with Larges, to be honest. Three out of my last four games have been Larges and I don't feel like embracing that sort of scope right now. Sorry, Cerb.

Not a problem TSO! I kinda feel the same way, totally wasn't planning on signing up for anything for awhile cause my last large was...demanding, to say the least, but mastin and I decided we'd hydra this game and both be super lazy, so I'm gonna get to pretend to be one of those people who just posts one liners and gives out pure gut reads lists on D1 and votes for no friggin reason.

It'll be fun, and way less stressful than i usually end up making mafia be for myself.

the seraph was nerfed by being a seraph
the ic was nerfed by the fact there was no way of keeping him alive thanks to the bus drive

i dont know why you thought your team was weak.

town, in general, is nerfed by being uninformed too

thats why i vehemently reject the "tit for tat" game design philosophy

Well, the IC also kinda misplayed. Gotta tread a very very thin line between being lynchable and not, and attract enough attention for scum to try to kill you and then trigger your IC. Otherwise, you just kinda get killed and are a VT.

But yeah, the IC was very unlikely to live long at all after they triggered it. The limited shots on the bus driver did make it entirely possible though. It's really just the way things played out THIS game that made towns inability to protect anyone so painful for them.

Question for all:

Was my D2 night action claim a
terrible
idea?

I know it wasn't a great one thanks to all the confusion it caused, but from a scale of 1 to 10, how bad was it? >_>

why you thought I need to make myself more obvtown in my games? Its just everyone just call me town all the time but noone take my reads serious. I can't make a case against people obviously. thats just something I can't do. the way I find scums in my games is not completly obvious for everyone. I read people mostly emotionally.

Hmm. Well I can't really comment on your play this game, because I was just spectating and wasn't paying as much attention to the game as I had originally planned on, but I could give some general comments since we've played together a couple times now. When you said pv did you mean in private, or what?

If you're abrasive and hard to work with, it makes people less interested in working with you.
If your reads are right but nobody wants to talk to you, it's going to be hard for you to get a wagon going.
You need to be assertive, sure, but if you're not reasonably easy to talk to, then people are going to struggle to communicate with you and that communication breakdown is going to likely lead to everyone just doing their own thing.

In general I think it's a better idea not to claim unless you really need to (getting to L-1, having a definitive result on somebody, being able to add some valuable setup spec to the game), and I'm not sure how much you needed to claim something protective. It was better to claim the way you did, by just saying you were a protective and not saying exactly what kind of protective, than it would have been to say exactly what your role was.

So, in answer to your question, I don't think it was terrible, especially given that you'd already used your only "shot." I don't think it was the most destructive PR claim for town, either. But it did stir the pot on claims somewhat and in that sense I think it would have been better to keep it to yourself for longer.
