The rest of the posts from my hammer until now have been me ranting pretty much. You don't really lose anything by skipping it, although you do miss out on how this setup isn't balanced towards cult at all.

Being Cult with a slow factional recruit means that your survival is more important.
Imagine a VT would have been lynched today - then it would have been 2:3:1 into Night. With you recruiting MW, you would have been busted, but so would have been the masons.
Day 3 would have started with 2 confirmed town and 3 others. A bad situation, but solvable. With a lynch it would have been 2:2:1 and with a kill 1:2:1, MYLO. The last chance to get rid of you(NoLynch just enables you to recruit someone, so they are stuck in lynching in MYLO.). A lot of recruitments aren`t possible, in a micro. At most two.
And that`s with the Desperado being correctly aimed at scum. The desperado aimed at a townie... isn`t that great for town, after all.

This game really came down to my luck on the desperado kill. From there, it was really lucky that my scumread also was the last cult.
