My only response to CDB's defense is that while CDB explained the motivation for his actions well, that doesn't mean the explanations are true. They just don't fit with what he said. I get the part about the exaggeration though. (By the way, feeling drunk could be used as an excuse for slips or oddly worded/scummy statements)

i.e. if scum wanted to use drunkenness to explain a post that somebody found scummy, they'd go "well I was feeling drunk, you can tell if you look at how the post is worded". They wouldn't fake drunkenness during said post to protect against anyone finding it scummy in the future - if they thought they needed to do that, wouldn't they just rewrite the post to look less scummy? Also if I were faking drunkenness would I have said "I haven't actually drunk any alcohol, I just feel drunk"? Wouldn't I just say "hi gusy im a bt drunk" and imply that I had actually been drinking? You're not thinking about this at all apart from "but I thought CDB was scum, how could this fit him being scum?".
