I think we should have a mass claim of the regular townies. It would help us find out what set up we have.

You might want to dwell on that a bit.

We don't really have any major leads just yet. I think it will take a while, but I'm still in favour of voting and eventually lynching someone less active, if nobody is standing out.

VisMaior - Is this generally the sort of pace most newbie games operate at?

Yes. Also, this is generally the sort of pace non-newbie games operate at.

I don't think this would be helpful at all? Everyone would simply claim as a regular townie and we'd be back at the beginning.

Sorry for not posting! Real life got in the way.

Honestly, I think at this point we need to just choose someone and go with it, we have nothing else to go on. My vote still stands.

@-over9000 You right that would just get us back to were we started, bad plan on my part XD. But you are wrong on the we should just choose someone. A quick lynch is always bad for the town.

Welcome back meteor. TAX, may I enquire why you unvoted me? I certainly don't mind, but it just seems unusual that you'll remove a random vote, and then not place a new one on someone else.

I understand random votes, but random unvotes without voting again. Seems suspicious to me - trying to avoid some conflict? Trying to avoid ties with other players?

Ok
vote: VisMaior
I unvoted you because I didn't find a reason for me to have a vote right now, and yes i didn't vote to avoid conflict but I never was much for random voting usually I just sit back to I find someone suspicious enough to vote for.

Because you said it makes me suspicious, but ok I will
unvote:VisMaior

That will be my final time I vote or unvoting a random person, until I find someone really suspicious.

idea, you seem to be actively staking out this forum. While you're online, you might as well jump in too! Any thoughts or 'ideas' on TAX's voting?

Despite the curious voting, I'm still getting town vibes.

Most seem quite neutral to me at the moment - the few reads I've generated can be interpreted both ways. I think my suspicions still lie with the IC's, mainly due to their lack of presence or input in the game so far. Maybe it's just me being petty and biased, singling out the quiet folk though.

Hoopla, my main thought on Tax's posts is to do with his experience rather than his voting

TAX's post 51 suggests a mass claim by townies
(this was alarming enough to delurk VisMaior, so i guess it's not a good thing to do)
maybe an understandable mistake in a newbie game?

TAX's post 59 is very strong about a quick lynching always being bad for town
this indicates some experience of playing mafia

TAX, have you played in a game before where there's been a mass claim? if so, was it successful?

I have played a couple of times. Four times to be exact. Mass claim for the townies are usually done by masons so we have confirmed townies. I just thought having a mass claim would help us figure out what, but now I see we don't need a mass claim of townies it would do anything for us.

Hoopla wrote:Understandable. Although, actively searching for scum, or trying to confirm your innocence always seemed like an adequate ploy - particularly if most of the town tried to play this way.

It would minimize mafia potentially lurking and not feeling pressured. So, because it's a gamestyle that doesn't help the town, you've earned my vote for now.

Excpet you don't find anything that scummy during the RVS. I'm also not lurking in this game as I am an IC.

Personally through the games I have played, and watched. I learned that if you are too loud or quit people think you scum. You have to find the right balance.
