A significant strength of blue decks is leaving enough mana open to counterspell, and regardless of whether you have a counterspell or not, it makes your opponent hinder themselves by being afraid of getting their nice spells countered.
"Faust complained about having two souls in his breast, but I harbor a whole crowd of them and they quarrel. It is like being in a republic." ~Otto von Bismarck
you probably need help with what is known as your "mana curve."
It's an idea that was pioneered by a deck called sligh. The general idea is that in an aggressive deck you want to be using all your mana every turn, so you should construct your deck to be able to do that.
sensfan33 on MODO. I mostly play Pauper and Standard, but am looking forward to Cubing once the Cube drafts start firing.

Favorite decks at the moment? Preferably using INN/DKA cards. I've got my zombie deck how I want it but still have a metric fuck ton of cards left over and wanna see what else I can make with them
I've been having some fun messing around with RG Werewolf beats in casual games.
Thanks for the tip, Shea. I haven't been on in a couple of weeks or so.

I've been playing various versions of Heartless Summoning decks since Innistrad launched. If you have a 4-set, I highly recommend it. It's the Timmy-est deck in Standard, and all you do is run a bunch of decently costed fatties, and filter cards.
Surprisingly enough, that's not actually a great card for Constructed Magic.

It costs what I would like to describe as eight bajillion mana.
Routine day with a dirt cheap brush
Then a week goes by and it goes untouched
Then two, then three, then a month
Then the rest of your life, you beat yourself up
Its on MTGS and the thread is unlocked, so its like 99% real (that and it came from WotC facebook)
In my opinion, the most interesting thing is that Av is the #6th card in the set, at a cost of 8 it doesnt do anything not expected, and honestly, I like akroma and the haste + pro red/black more. I will lose multiple limited games to it though, and thats frustrating.
reck, you are falling for one of the most common pitfalls of newer players. Thinking a card is excellent just because it is incredibly powerful, The angel is good, and will probably see a little bit of play in some very heavy control builds as a finisher, but generally you're going to die before you ever have a chance to cast it.
Most constructed magic games just dont last that long, and if they do, then the angel is redundant, because the control deck is already winning the game.
What would you say if I told you this card is actually a much better card than the angel?
It's a cool effect and I didn't even factor in the mana cost. I actually just built a BR deck that heavily skews towards 2&3 mana monsters just to try out a low mana deck
Even that card didn't see heavy play except in decks that tried to cheat it out (like the tooth and nail deck I was talking to you about last night.) because it is so prohibitively expensive to cast. (and its easier because its less mana and colorless at that.)
