I know SCG isnt Wizards but still.
Pedit - yeah I vaguely remember the others, I just prefer slang and Dega didn't have a good one (except Borzhov but ew)
I think this is the opposite of that though. The only people that remember the way it worked before m10 are going to understand anyway, you are functionally just bragging about the fact that you've played for 5 years.
'Life link happens at the same time as damage, so he wont die.' Is different, I think.

I think that Chamber's point is that its been so long since lifelink used the stack as a trigger that most newer players don't even know that it ever didn't work that way.
Its more confusing to mention it then it is to not mention it. If they're going to try to explain what lifelink is, then explain what lifelink is. Don't reference an obscure older rules that only old fucks like me and chamber even remember.
Also, I think SCG specifically tries to cater to a much more competitive kind of viewer than wizards does. Wizards is uber concerned with new players since getting new people playing magic is their business model. SCG's business model is getting those players that have already been playing for a while and making them into tournament players who buy singles and consume content. They aren't as beholden to coddling newer players as much.

Team America (BGU)
I hope you're joking. I would immediately assume Jeskai colors for "Team America".
I like the new names. RUG/BUG are fine, but the new players I've taught the game just gave RUG and BUG laughs, assuming I was joking about those names. The fact that they now have lore-based names is really helpful.

Yeah. Still, that's a name that I consider a poor one.

13/16 of the top 8 decks had green and 12/16 ran 4x Caryatid/Courser. I know it's early in the format, but...come on.
My favorite deck is the BW 'Midrange' deck that's honestly just BW Control. I think this might be a good shell to start with. It seems to be one of the few decks poised to run 4x End Hostilities main.

And this makes shea a sad panda.
I'm the same way with Elspeth right now. I'm quickly thinking Elspeth was a R&D mistake instead of a sweet control win con.
Eh. It's a 6 mana walker. Even if its too pushed, it's the first time they made one that cost more than 4 that saw a staple amount of play, hard for me to view it as a mistake.
I mean that in the sense that every single one of the Abzan midrange decks on camera seemed designed to start the game at 10 life. Worth noting that none of those with the bizarre deadly mana bases made top 8.
Big mess of green midrange everywhere though. Picking out some winners from among the pack...
I tested a similar deck to this last season. It couldn't really beat esper back then. The meta may be kinder? Anger of the gods for weenies and chained to the rocks for fatties is a nice removal suite.
I'm not sure how good this deck style is if people stop killing themselves with their manabases, but seems to have been a really good choice for the event. Deflecting Palm is way better than I originally thought - every time I've seen it played it's done work.
And that's literally all the non-green decks in the top 16 of two events. Wonderful.
