And, also for the record, he says the names specifically in his PMs with an A.K.A saying what the normal role is. In WW1 it was Seer (A.K.A Cop).

The last one it was Sniffer (A.K.A Tracker)

Why did you just claim Tracker, not Sniffer and assume it was seer?

Now that I read Wall-E's claim more carefully, I really find it hard to believe. The role PM's in previous games were pretty damn explicit.

Well, that will teach me to not voice my gut instincts. I thought BM was scummy from the beginning because of his hardcore "omfg lynch now" policy. I also assumed that my intuition about BM "tracking" Wall-E would be ruled "the worst logic I have ever seen." I guess I need to be more aggresive/vocal. NOW it will look like I'm just jumping on another bandwagon. Well, I 100% feel this way too cerebus.

SpyreX basically summed it up. I called out Wall-E on his claim and acted very scummy minutes later. If he didn't understand his role, I'm sure he wouldn't announce it in the thread. Even a newbie playing their first ever game would have the common sense to do that.

You have to admit, BM really seemed taken aback when I voted him. I'd like to believe he's town, but as I already said, I'm always suspicious of bandwagon-rallyists.

I just did a readthrough of the thread checking only your posts.

You pop in whenever someone does something questionable and ask them why they did it.

I have absolutely no reason to believe you are scum right now. You appear to be one of the most innocent players we've got, aside from those who have died.

Either you're really good at this game or you're innocent.

(PS the confusion over the use of the word cop stems from my history with this game. I first started playing online mafia here: http://sharkey.gamespite.net/forum/inde ... opic=451.0 - my nickname on those boards is Guildenstern and at the bottom of that post is a short piece I wrote on the history of Mafia... anyway as you can see what you call a Cop I call a Seer, and I mistook Cop for Jailer, a person able to lock down a player's powers for the night... hopefully you can see why I'm so confused for now, but after a few games on mafiascum I am completely certain I'll have no problem getting my vernacular right)

And yes, I've been playing werewolf for many years IRL. I had no idea before going to that site I linked that this game existed online. I was totally jazzed to learn about it because IRL games are so hard to organize that they're infrequent at best. Eventually that site led me to greylabyrinth where i heard about mafiascum... and here I am, on the single largest mafia site on the internet that I've so far found. Then I posted a bunch of boring stuff about how I found mafiascum in a game thread and probably got lynched for it.

And that brings us to now.

Why did you check BM and then vote for him when you got a null-result?

Why, after I think it was Cass, mentioned that announcing your tracking target beforehand did you still do it?

Question 1) I wanted to see his reaction.

Question 2) The scum have a choice of either nking him for being a near-confirmed towny or nking me for being a creator of near-confirmed townies. And yes, I do plan on announcing my targets in the future, and yes I will reveal the results. Either way, the town is spared from losing their cop another day.

None of this really changes that you claimed tracker when you were completely ignorant of what a tracker is. The role PM's explain what roles do, and I find it hard to believe you didn't read the pm at all.

Moving swiftly on then...let's assume Wall-E IS a mafia tracker. Presumably he will want to confirm himself by targetting someone who is town, and thus proving his ability. You are speculating otherwise which i find unrealistic. I'm speechless at his play, and if he is mafia, i definitely make sense as a potential partner, but i'd guess i'm not the only one. So far nobody else has owned up to having read either of the 2 preceding games. Now would be as good a time as any.

What reaction did you expect? I think pretty much everyone 'seemed taken aback' because you MAKE NO SENSE.

If that's not vague as all f***, you can kiss my ass. As far as I knew in mafia games you don't get to talk to people in secret, so "who they talk to" made me think "oh, so I can tell if they're scum or not. I'm a seer, otherwise known here as a cop."

This is almost the equivalent of a cop with an innocent on someone trying to get them to make a reaction, and then construe that reaction as scummy. Of course i'm angry-your play makes no sense.
