Hey! I need a replacement for Ranger, in Blitz 14. This game is on Day 1, and it's 18 pages so far. It uses the Chosen open setup. Deadlines after Day 1 are 48 hours, and missing 24 hours is grounds for replacement, so please don't offer unless you're comfortable with that!

This is a little beyond the usual holiday leniency requirements as I'm also moving (and driving 2,000 miles to do so) immediately after Christmas, but I'm willing to take advantage of the timing to call it a holiday vacation.

I can get some reading and light posting in as long as I have mobile internet access, since I'm splitting the driving, but I can't promise I'll actually have access the whole time.

I'm not modding any of the upcoming games, but I'll raise the point that it would be quite bad for a blitz game (or any game TBH) if a substantial fraction of the playerlist dropped to one post a day. I admire your desire to play but would suggest taking the overall health of the game and enjoyment of other players into account too. A balanced approach would be to stay in (mod permitting) but be prepared to replace out if the game suffers.

An alternative approach would be to run blitz games at a still-accelerated but slower than fast pace. Maybe add 1-2 days per phase during the holiday time.

Perhaps the mods could be more lenient of the deadline around Christmas time. I've seen some mods extend it over the holidays and add a day or two like dave just said. Also, not replace anyone over this time but otherwise it is the same as always. Posting once or twice a day should be o.k. I would think.

For this game, I plan to have 72 hour days with a 24 hour prod-timer and 8 hours to post after the prod.

I'll probably also add an additional 24 hours to the game days where holidays fall.

Almost50 pisskop: Overall, that's a townie slot. Don't ask for specifics because with PK everything can be interpreted either way. It's probably WHEN he says/does things that matter, so it's more of a matter of conception rather than solid reasoning.
