They shouldn't get a free pass because they're in their 20s. You wouldn't give other professionals (footballers etc.) free passes just because they are twenty-odd.

Oh, I wasn't giving them a free pass at all. I'm just saying it's not that surprising. And footballers usually have mature coaches/managers to enforce professional behavior. I could easily imagine a self-coached U21 squad in the same situation pulling something similar(putting a defender up front, having a striker as keeper, etc.). That doesn't excuse it, but at the same time it's hard for me to get mad about something like this with few consequences for either team (it would have been totally different if some other team needed GG to lose or something) doing something they think might be fun.

In a way, it's been kind of refreshing to have these guys talk about stuff. They aren't as well versed in the cliched nothings of professional sports, so they're more likely to give insight into what they're saying to their team.

Would they have won the tiebreaker for position there? Winning would have put them even with LD and I think they have a 1-1 record, so I don't know what the next tie-break is. I would hope that TSM checked that they couldn't win the spot before doing something like this.

anyway, LD beat TSM twice, so i think they would have had 3rd spot regardless of whether they were tied at 3-5 or not. At least that's the impression i got when the announcers were talking about potential 3 way ties (in that head to head comes first in breaking a tie before a tie breaker game is used)

I dunno, to me once you get to the point where all of the people moving has been determined without a doubt, why not fuck around and have some fun? Nobody is giving Fnatic and Mineski shit for the Zilean / Sivir game for doing the same thing. I was expecting the entirety of Group A yesterday to be trollgames, and was actually fairly disappointed when they weren't.

Granted, I didn't know until this morning that they gave prize money even to the teams that didn't qualify for quarterfinals, but I think that's dumb as rocks in and of itself. Don't they all already get money for winning whatever they won to get into the group stage anyway?
