"So. It was a death dog, eh? Doesn't look like it gave you much trouble." He stands up and turns to call Bramley, but Bramley appears anyway, wondering what the loud kenku is chanting in the guard house.

"Ah. I knew I could count on the Fascinating Sharks,” he says with a wink. "I just debriefed Del so I have all the details. Thanks for helping out, we didn't really have guards to spare at the moment." He hands out the gold as promised. "Did you find any sentimental items? I'd like to return those to next of kin if possible."

He sighs. "I wonder if you will do me a favor. The day is young, and a lot of my new recruits are even younger. Is it possible I could get you to train them a little bit? Have them experience a battle? We have some healers from the temple on loan today to help us so nobody would get seriously hurt. It'd be nice for them, but it would also get me to see you in action since I may have another job for you. Interested?"

Cael then gestures departure from his acquaintances, turns his back to them and begins walking away from them to the market.

The elf, who has been obviously brooding in silence since the cave, collects his gold and turns to the now blessedly Cael-less group. "It has been dreadful knowing you. I hope our paths do not cross again," he says. He makes as if to leave.

Cael recollects memories of his father when he was alive and tried to teach Cael empathy, they were great memories except for the day human bandits with raging death dogs assaulted his village and killed his father.

They are even associated with eternal youth and im giving it to you for just 50 pieces of gold each, if you make them into a jewel with all those properties! My ma‘am, you can easily make over 300 gold fir each! Or if you sell them to a sorcerer, they can make magic weapons with it! Obsidian stones are THAT good!

So… what is your actual final offer for these stones?”

Cael looks up to the jewel shop owner, raising his eyebrow with a confident inducing smile!

Cael saves his obsidian stones in his bag and leaves the shop, then heads out to explore the town more.

"I do not have a name in the way that you all do... in the wilderness I have come from, I was simply called Elf, as there were no other elves to confuse me with -- only fey, dryads and animals. If I had a name long ago, I have forgotten it."

I know that Goertz would be happy to have you perform again if you really don't want to, but there's something I'm trying to investigate. A guard going in would be suspicious, but regular citizens like yourself might be able to blend in better. If you're interested in helping me with my problem, I'll pay you 50 gold each, but it's got to produce some results. Interested?"
