Deadline is in about 6 days. I'm fine with a Thor lynch. Looks like every single person unvoted me while I wasn't paying attention. That's cool."It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill with rope and a slim majority."

I think that scum-team call is off, tbh.

That's a safe bet, RC.
In other news, I just looked at the player list and was surprised to see someone I did not even realize was playing this game. Then I went back and looked at his posts, and I saw my definition of active lurking.

1. Natural alliances are based on legitimate trust, based on past actions, whereas artificial Alliances are based upon a simple principle and a mechanic.
2. Natural alliances don't require that their members all participate in bloc voting, whereas artificial Alliances are almost solely based upon this premise.
3. You don't have to have confidence in the alignments of the people in the Alliance. You have to have confidence in ratios and proven performances.
1. So your case for Natural Alliances is that you can get a townread on the players first. But your townread could easily be wrong. You've flip-flopped on whether a couple people should be in the alliance, proving that you don't even KNOW who you trust enough for this.
2. But they do require some things related to bloc voting in this game, possibly even the worst elements of it.
3. Huh? I think their performance will be related to their alignment. If you give scum the opportunity to mislynch town, they will do it, whether they are in an alliance or not.
Is that good enough for everyone? I just don't see how saying "let's make a club of people we like and have them not vote each other" could ever help the town. We need to be able to vote the scum, whether they're part of some makeshift alliance or not.
@ mikeburnfire
Why would you make a point of saying you're fine with a Thor lynch? He's not the leading wagon, his wagon has been on a downward trend, and you're voting him, so I think we could probably gather you kind of want him lynched without you telling us.-

It's the weekend now.
That's true, but now there are 400 posts to sift through,"It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill with rope and a slim majority."

I'm having a difficult time getting a read on anybody. What are the biggest cases right now?"It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill with rope and a slim majority."

Hmmm... perhaps try reading the thread, instead of expecting everyone else to do your work for you?
mikeburnfire wrote:BUT... BUT... BUT... there are 400 posts to sift through! Oh noes! :0
Then maybe you should have read them as they happened instead of expecting us to not post until you can get on and read them.

Hello, Reaper. Unfortunately, that vote makes you a threat. I can't have any threats.
Daykill: ReaperCharlie
Nothing personal.
Other stuff:
Thor665 - Townread. My strongest townread, at this point. Definitely do not want to see him lynched today.
Channeldelibird - Townread. Little else to say -- his posts are succinct and to the point and generally rational.
mikeburnfire - Townread. For him to be scum and run up to L-2 likely means that both of his partners would be on his wagon. I find this unlikely.
danakillsu - Slight townread. Not seeing the RC hate. Of the people who could be lynched today, he's somewhere in the middle -- thus, not interested in lynching him.
Ragnarokio - Slight townread. I heap more and more invective in my notes on Ragnarokio's posts, then ended up writing "#260 - Holy fuck, Ragnarokio posts something real". Things improve since then, and made me go back and re-evaluate Ragnarokio pre-#260 as trolling town.
ReaperCharlie - Slight townread. Alliance is BS. Pushing the alliance in the face of several people calling it BS is town.
The null bucket - My opinion of these three is literally "null". In the case of MoS and ooba, it's just that I find anything there to base an opinion off of. In MarchHare's case, it's that I feel that everything's just been one big giant reaction test and that keeps me from taking any of it seriously.
Mastermind of Sin
ooba
MarchHare
PerigrineV - Slight scumread. I felt a general overall lack of content in his posts, but scummier than that is his townread on Energetic (#328 was just after EP voted dana; in this post, Perigrine doesn't fully agree with RC's case on dana, but thinks EP is reasonable; there's some cognitive dissonance going on there)
Energetic Penguin - Scumread. Largely nonexistant. Largely pointless posts. This'd be a different read on a newbie, but not on someone who's been here for 18 months.
Ant_to_the_max - Scumread. Nothing I can really put my finger on, but most of his posts feel forced, or like they're positioning for towncred. His unvote/vote of MikeBurnFire. A lot of straight up information, little analysis or stances. His consistent preference of voting for lurkers.
So of the three current wagons, Thor, Peregrine, and dana, I like Peregrine's wagon the best. However, I prefer to start my own.
VOTE: Ant_to_the_max
Energetic Penguin is also a wagon that I will join without hesitation.-

Reading your post, I just looked up Energetic Penguin's shiznit. He flaked out of a game in late '09, flaked out of another in early '10, and has only been 'back' since mid-April 2011. He doesn't have 18 months experience on site. He only has 50 posts. I'm not defending him per se, but your summary of him is a bit misleading. I wouldn't be surprised if he flaked this game too, though. Here's an incentive not to, EP.
Now that I look at it again, Ant_to_the_Max's reminder to mikeburnfire that "It's the weekend now" could be scum w/o daytalk trying to prod their buddy into action before they get called out on it by someone else.
More later but I should get off soon. I just spent the last 5 or so hours discussing Metropolis: Revisited's postgame. Good times!Show"Take me to Pleasure Town!" "Look, the most Glorious Rainbow Ever!" "Do me on it!" -

Yeah, sorry. Sifting through pages upon pages of witless banter and garbage posts isn't my thing. I'll take the short version please.
So let's go. What do we have to work with?"It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill with rope and a slim majority."

Ok, here's the skinny: we've got an active lurker (MoS) and a sh!tposter (mbf).

Better for him to flake and get replaced than to get lynched. If he's not going to flake, he needs to step up his game and post some content.

Great. Vote ATTM.
Though I find it incredibly unlikely that ATTM would be coaching mikeburnfire on how to play, I will appreciate the vote regardless.-

About the stuff being force: I think it is just a matter of opinion. Consistent preference for voting lurkers is stretching it imo.

Orrrrrr, I could be calling him out on lack of posting and wanting to know what his new excuse was.Apologies for falling off the face of the earth.
