If the blue mage had been targeted by me, could have have used cover on someone else or just himself. the role pm seems to indicate all his abilities are self targeting.

Okay, it's not BABOOM. It's not BAMBOOM.
It's Bamboomancer: like necromancer, but with bamboo instead of necro.

So to recap:
I am not a Baboom. I am some sort of bamboo magic man.

Nightchoices:

Night 1:

Thesp (Tonberry) targetted PBuG (Cactuar)
PBuG (Cactuar) targetted NanooktheWolf (Alchemist)
NanooktheWolf (Alchemist) targetted PBuG (Cactuar)
EYNH (Paladin) targetted Thesp (Tonberry)
SinisterOverlord (Thief) targetted warpdragon (Fighter)
Fry Guy (Red Mage) did nothing

Night 2:

Thesp (Tonberry) targetted Blackberry (Moogle)
SinisterOverlord (Thief) targetted Thesp (Tonberry)
Bamboomancer (Paladin) targetted SinisterOverlord (Thief)
Fry Guy (Red Mage) targetted SinisterOverlord (Thief) with Life

Oh, and yes, the classes were taken from FFTA. The game as a whole was not (Moogles as non-classed characters, the presence of Cactuars) - it was meant to represent a cross-FF feel without any specific characters, a non-specific snapshot of the FF universe, as it were.

I chose Cactuar, Malboro and Tonberry as the scum as they are unique to the FF universe and appear in most games - they're classic FF monsters, as opposed to the generic beasts and goblins you see in every fantasy-themed game. Obviously, Tonberry had to be the SK out of them.

Not at all. His ability would have worked exactly as yours did. He would get an update on the nature and functionality of each ability as and when he learned them.

o.o; Why does everybody always target me the first night? Yes, I am one of the more experienced players on the site, but c'mon!

I think had Nanook not targetted me it wouldhave changed something about Day 1 - it seemed like everybody thought that I was killed partly by having been turned into a frog when I had actually been both turned into a frog and killed by the SK.

Question for Thesp and Nanook - Why me?

Seol, question about the thief/bluemage interaction.
if the thief had stolen my rapier after i had learned any abilities, would have have those or would have have to be targeted first?
would i still be able to use the abilities i had already learned?
Just random thoughts here.

*does happy dance*

Yay! Go us! Whee!

It gives me such a great deal of satisfaction that after going after Thesp for all that time so hard, I was actually not wrong. Seriously, first time that's happened. All my other hunches/scum feelings have been way off.

Also,

Whoa... that's awesome. So in theory, I could've been a cop, doc, vig, roleblocker and ability absorber, at the same time. Though I imagine I would've only been able to use one of those abilities at a time. Still... wish that'd happened :D

Aah, good stuff. Thanks very much for a fun game, mod.

Nothing.

Which means it's entirely possible that the Thief reads the Moogles as monsters. You're semi-millers.

Good game all! My thoughts below.
Seol wrote:The Mafia had a hard time, with one dying overnight and the other basically being bandwagonned at the wrong time - but whilst the scum was weak, so were the town (only a half-doc, no proper cop). Unfortunately, what with it being over so quick, a lot of the interesting roles didn't get a chance to use their mechanics.
The first death was indeed random, the second "bandwagon at the wrong time" was actually quite deserved. (Lucresia was awfully scummy.) Is it jeep that says "poor play deserves to lose"? You'll get better, Lucresia. :)

Also, with only 2 members, it's unusually small for a mafia in a mini.

The town actually had a half-doc (confirmable), a bodyguard (an underrated and virtually unlynchable role), 2 unlynchable masons (masons are almost always unlynchable), a cop that confirms roles, and a townie with a confirmable ability (and one pseudo-confirmable, the red mage). With a 2-person mafia where they have no off-setting abilities, I think scum did indeed have a hard time on this one. Probably more even if the Paladin were taken out and replaced with a mafia member. Just my humble (and possibly inaccurate) thoughts.

Very, very nice follow-through, I thoroughly enjoyed the role PMs and flavor (especially mine!), and I look forward to your next game!

My role tuend out to be just random townie in this game- blue mage is a role that is weak in a short/small game and powerful in a long game.
