I went back and took a gander and I think chaotic_ diablo is suspicious.

Yaw's comments seem pretty solid to me.

That last post by Chaotic seemed a little desperate. In his scenarios, the mafia are killing each other off instead of the townies.

Perhaps before finishing him, we should give him one last chance to say something. Personally, I think lynching him would be smart, but others might have things to say about it. Just to be fair, you know.

That's three of four. Nobody else vote for CD until he's claimed. Which he should do as soon as possible.

fine, i claim Auguste Dupin. i'm a roleblocker, capable of role blocking anyone. i roleblocked EPR on night 2, but didn't say anything when EPR said he found something. With his roleblocked, i'd thought he couldn't find anything of use since it was blocked, this is the first time i've ever been a roleblocker so i didn't know. on night one, i roleblocked mlaker. on night 3, i roleblocked drummer. night 4, i roleblocked toodles.

Ok, quick Google search. Auguste Dupin is the detective from a number of stories by Edgar Allan Poe. A little essay I ran across says that what makes Dupin unique is the fact that he relies more on instinct and creative thought than logical deductive thought.

Wait. On night 3 you blocked
drummer
?! After a roleclaim of townie that held up since we lynched the other claimant, Mogg, who was scum? Seriously?

who do you expect me to block? i blocked for good measures and to make sure that person might not be mafia. if i'm correct, my roleblocking will also roleblock the godfather, so i don't see why making sure a person is not godfather is wrong. no role means no night choice, no night choice means no kill. i don't rule out the possibility that some problem might have occured.
this is pretty ironic to me. and one more thing, you asked me several questions!

Being on vacation doesn't help but this seemed most scummy:
I can't really tell about Toodle or MMCL.
Virtually everyone has recognised that I am not scummy but you can't tell? Bah...

MMCL, drummer's as confirmed as it gets. He claimed the same role as Mogg (but that Dr. Armstrong was a townie, not a doc), and Mogg was scum. I understand the being on vacation and all, but anyone else in this game is a better choice to lynch than drummer, in terms of being scum.

Well, Djinn gets back on Wednesday, so even if there is a lynch it won't be finalized before then. Why don't you figure it out when you have more time, on Thursday when you're back from vacation? When the game's down to this size, I'm sure we can argue for the extra time to allow you to get back up to speed. Besides, I'd rather you make a fully informed choice.

What was that MMCL? A vote because I find you one of the least suspicious? I'm sorry, I'll fix that right now. FOS:MMCL.

Hmm...convenient how Chaotic Diablo blocked a person with no role. Then he didn't have to worry about it.

in my opinion, you can't confirm someone doesn't have a role until you've checked it yourself. there is a possibility that there might not be an armstrong in the game in the first place, so i don't see how double checking could go wrong.

This is looking increasingly desperate. We're not going to lynch the closest thing we have to a confirmed innocent when we only have two lynches left just because diablo wants to prove a point. It's a preposterous idea.

I really do think there's something fishy with the roleclaim, because other detectives in the game have been cops, not roleblockers, and every other role we've seen is rather closely related to its role in the literature. Plus, we haven't seen anything by Poe yet, which makes it look out of place in another way. Nevertheless, I'm going to unvote for the time being, because we have the time and I want all players to have a chance to comment before we lynch. Vote goes right back on when MMCL's caught up from vacation, though.
Unvote: chaotic_diablo

In the event this lynch is wrong, we should still be planning for tomorrow. I'd advise a no lynch immediately without roleclaiming, as we'd be down to 4 people. We'd want to get it down to a 3-person endgame to increase our odds of nailing the last scum, and we wouldn't want to roleclaim to give the scum any help in terms of who would be useful to kill. Mass roleclaims can happen when we're down to three. Mind you, I don't think it likely we'll have to use this advice, but I want it out there regardless.

I tend to agree with Yaw... the flight gets in at 1.30pm and then after about 6 hours (3 travelling and 3 collapsing on the sofa) I will be back up to speed...

Drummer - the vote/unvote on you was a mistake because Im on holiday and haven't been as 'with it' as I would usually (net time = 30mins or so per day)...

What if yaw is the one who is mafia? That would make sense but there is no way to prove it and yaw yuou forgot that if the mafia kill someone then were down to two and the poem becomes true(almost)

No, blackhawk. There are six alive today. We lynch, bringing the total down to 5. Mafia kill tonight brings it down to 4 tomorrow (assuming we don't catch scum today). That's a no lynch situation, because a 3-person endgame is better for the town than a 4-person endgame. Besides, the mafia are supposed to kill all of us; to my knowledge fulfilling the poem is not in their winning condition. (Also, there were 12 players, of which we've lynched 2 already, with one scum still out there. That means there are only 9 pro-town roles, so the scum
can't
kill ten pro-town roles to fulfill the poem.) I'm just proposing the strategy that will be most advantageous to the town now, because if we lynch wrong today I don't expect to be alive for the endgame. I've very effectively painted a big night-kill target on my chest with my success at catching them so far.
blackhawk wrote:What if yaw is the one who is mafia? That would make sense but there is no way to prove it
And what if blackhawk is mafia? Only drummer is confirmed innocent. By the logic you're using, any of the five of us left could be mafia.

That said, I think blackhawk's actions point to him not being mafia. I also think that it's pretty clear mine do too. At the very least, at this point with a lot of content, I expect any serious accusations to be backed up with
something
. Blowing smoke to see if it sticks looks a bit on the scummy side.

I seriously doubt that the scum would agree to let two of their own get sacrificed just to make one seem unsuspicious. I sure wouldn't let it happen.

Your unofficial vote count:

chaotic_diablo 2: Toodle, drummer.

With 4 to lynch. That's it. Easy enough to confirm, there's only a page of new stuff since we came out of night.

Welcome back, MMCL! Let us know your thoughts when you've caught up.
