I also think we had a lot of bad luck with the replacements: DCL, RD, DW, Notty, and Bulba were all better players then their predecessors.

He pulled the same thing in See Nine Plus Plus, but he was skilled enough to WIFOM the town so that they wouldn't pay attention to it. Heck, TunnelVision even talked about the tell in that game and said to check out Calvin and Hobbes Mafia, where Varsoon talks about the tell in the scum QT! (Btw, he led his scum team to a perfect win in that game.) That's why I started to get suspicious of you d6, because knowing this, you should have been all over Notscience as town, but you kept trying to keep that slot open for a mislynch.

imo bulba's "catching" of nominul was really just kind of stupid, I basically just skimmed past any of the arguments that they had, on the other hand, it did pretty much move bulba from leaning scum to leaning town cause even scumbuddies don't bus that ridiculously

Regarding the Vars/Notty slot I actually considered asking Slimer to modkill the slot given it was pretty unfair to have a confirmed town because of the trust tell, but I didn't want to lose my biggest supporter .

Like I said, I didn't need the tell, since Varsoon was so obv. town, but Notty was becoming too much of a scapegoat and people were asking why he was obviously town. I gave them the answer. To be fair, it didn't influence things that much, as people still had him in their leaning scum lists near the end of the game.

Well I guess my plan of "don't hammer until work stops being 12 hour days" kinda worked because it didn't even give me the chance to pick wrong.

Agree with the basic sentiment on Varsoon. He was obviously town for reasons that were not the trust tell. I do think he absolutely should have been modkilled (nsci slot at that point) for it though since its fairly blatant cheating. Somepony can have a very reliable tell in their meta that makes them a breeze to read for those who know what to look for, but to intentionally do such is amazingly far over the line. I can understand not making the modkill, but I would have in this situation.

And that's against the rules? I mean, when he said that I just assumed he was lying or just putting on bravado. How is that a "tell"?

I must be missing something. I'm not defending him, I just really don't understand. Building a meta intentionally is only really useful when you strategically break it.

Also, had Varsoon already replaced out before the tell had been made public (as in he got busted for it)? We may already have had notty before it all went down. Would it have been fair to modkill a replacement for something their predecessor did?
