I'm nominating Witch_Hunter for the Rising Star Award for his performances in Hungarian Notak II (a game I played in), and Hungarian Notak (a game that I read).

One of the things that impressed me about Witch_Hunter was how solid of a handle he was able to keep on the game; he had completely fleshed out reads on every player in the game and reanalyzed them constantly. Whereas most of the players in that game expressed paranoia for the sake of paranoia, Witch_Hunter challenged me constantly because I was the person he felt the least sure about; see this post and this post for examples.

As far as examples of how insightful he was goes, I think this would probably be my favorite example. I said that a player had dropped a scumtell, Witch reads through their posts and then notices they paid a strange sort of attention to their scumpartner before anyone else (AKA Amished Tell).

The third thing that was especially impressive to me was the fact that he made certain efforts to keep the gamestate healthy and keep the rest of his fellow townies posting (which is something that might seem obvious, but it took me several years to figure out how important it was), such as this post where he makes a push to start another wagon (on scum) for the health of the gamestate as a whole, which wasn't a push that I understood at the time but now, in retrospect, acknowledge it as both a really great move, and a really creative one.

The first Hungarian Notak is also worth a read; I don't think his scum game was as exceptional as his town game here, but it's still pretty damn good; he stayed active, logical, and aggressive, and ended up staying universally townread throughout pretty much the entire game.

If 2nds were still a thing I would 2nd that. Witch_Hunter's really great! I modded both of those games and I was really impressed with his play. I hope he sticks around and I look forward to my next encounter with him.
