Imposter Oak's Revenge actually a poor alternative to the original in my corrupt imaginings.

Erika is a straightforward example of what I'm looking for here. Drawing cards is good for everyone but you get to draw as many as they do and you're playing mill while they probably aren't and that tips the utility into your favor.

Blaine's Quiz #1 as well as #2 and #3 likewise have an approximately equal expected value of draw for each player but playing mill tilts the utility in your favor. Quiz cards probably strong against children also now that I imagine it playing out.

Pokemon anyway.

I feel like clarifying (again?) that all of these judgements are specifically in the context of my jank.
On second thought since this is a trainer card it potentially allows bouncing multiple Pokemon in a turn which is something to consider. Not reliable alone though.

Lol even set AND name are not enough to uniquely identify cards in this game there's at least the two Erika's Glooms and two Erika's Weepinbells in G1 alone.

Misty's Duel shares relevance with Blaine's Quizzes and Imposter Oak.

This Feraligator (there's two in the set BOTH with Ken Sugimori art wtf) smells faintly of mill but it's not much or reliable and on its own is just as likely to mill you.

I believe the argument the people commenting on this one should be someone saying they only know Paper-Scissors-Rock, which is a totally different game to Rock-Paper-Scissors.

Real talk my opponent has yet to correctly time a rock paper scissors throw, our duel decks each feature a card that requires it.

I think a lot of people flip coins for the rock paper scissors cards simply because there are some officiation issues with the game of rock paper scissors and no such issues with coins.

it's on the cards because kids like to play rock paper scissors

I accidentally drew my whole deck in the one game I've completed and had to recover with a Copycat and scramble to win in the meager time it bought me.

We also need to work on the coin flipping all the way over when we flip it lol.

i opened a bunch of packs cause i'm on a kick and i made a deck that uses Magma Basin to get free fire energy from the discard pile every turn. that card looks busted. idk if i should run 4 instead of 3 just to make sure i draw it.

I've definitely noticed a ton of fire attacks that require discarding energy so that seems useful for the type.

Pokemon March technically pulls one card from your opponent's deck while being otherwise useful but that's a small pull for a dedicated mill deck.

I guess even an effect that thins just a few cards out is worth considering if it also has general utility you want anyway, like using Erika instead of Hop.

The effect comes up a lot, on marnie, marshadow, and judge too. You'll have trouble ensuring your opponent falls below four cards in hand though so you probably only want one or two as a coup de grace. I think there are pokemon with attacks that mill that would have to be your main way of winning but I can't remember any of them. I think they probably deal damage based on the characteristics of the cards you milled but you wouldn't care about that.

I'm expecting to find more such Pokemon eventually but so far just that one Moltres. It was ages before Magic got serious if you can call it that about mill too I guess.

mill decks are more niche in pokemon than in mtg (where they're already niche) im pretty sure. kids dont like watching charizard get discarded off the top so they dont print many ways to do that

That makes sense. Ironically I'm looking at it as a friendly alternative to knocking out his Pokemon.

Okay finally Dark Tyranitar looks great it mills about half a card per energy per turn with no discard, which should quickly put it ahead of Moltres. And it does damage blah blah.
