So I played three normals today with a friend and it was interesting. The people seemed nicer than the community of old.
Idk. Lost all three games but I managed to do well with Vi and Nami so idk. I was somewhat amazed at how easy it was to pick up again.

Interesting. Could also be something about playing at a Gold level now vs. my previous low silver level vs. your platinum level. Or we could just have different opinions.
We just have more advanced toxicity now. Riot's done a great job implementing new technologies that let you be an asshole without even having to type. Now you can spam ping question marks on your ally's corpse! Neat! Flash your mastery icon at your opponents when they screw up! Amazing! But if these aren't enough you can always fall back on the tried-and-true "gg ez".
I hate League's community. I don't care what rewards they offer for ranked play, it's not worth it to deal with a bunch of obnoxious children.

I mean, all those things replacing the toxicity of yesteryear seems like an overall victory.

Because if you really need to, go into your sound and just mute them.
the issue is more the fifty large bright yellow question marks that cover your screen than the sound.

I think players who don't yell at teammates win more.
It seems infinitely more likely that players who win more don't need to yell at team mates because less stupid mistakes are made higher up the ladder, and plus people who are good at the game probably just carry and don't really care about their teammates.

eh, no.
Doesn't matter which level, stupid mistakes are made. What they are changes. Just see your average streamer rage. It's no different.
And you don't "just carry" because you at a higher elo. So are your opponents.
Surrender, imagine and of course wear something nice.
