if its a full release and not a beta or prerelease, it should be stable.
this is a problem with your host, probably cirtualizing their machine in a shitty fashion where one of the customers is putting too much stress on the machine relative to the rest of the customers or something.
I was getting entity lag when killing a pig as well.

it probably has something to do with sp6. I forgot I was messing around with Morpheus for vanilla. I was trying to connect it to IRC and it wasn't working.
So...anybody want to show me how 1.10 works? I hear there are polar bears or something now?

On the vanilla server:
02.09 14:55:23 [Server] Server thread/WARN Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded? Running 6621ms behind, skipping 132 tick(s)
with just 3 players (and it was doing this last night with 1 player!)
Is this node CPU poor or something? It is running the minecraft 1.10.2 jar, not even forge right now. Maybe multicraft is inserting something that takes a lot of resources?

apparently it's a common issue with 1.10.2 - that watchdog nonsense - but I haven't found a solution yet. I can give it more ram and also assign sp6 to you so you can make changes to it
the warn cant keep up thing is typical of minecraft. For as logn as I can remember every server does that shit, vanilla through modded, empty through 20 players online. I used to get server.logs with thousands of lines of that
AIGHT I JUST NOTICED THAT MY SPELLCHECK WENT AWAY IN GOOGLE CHROME WTF IS THIS BULLSHIT
I have a cave! It has a door! Don't steal my diamonds pls

We haven't encountered this at all on our 1.10.2 server. It's modded and very much so - especially if this is a problem that occurs for you on both Vanilla and Modded, it's your host/server. Not Minecraft itself.
Vanilla should be fine for now. Modded not so much.
About 20 blocks from my main mining stairs, I was mystified when I came to a small lava pool with obsidian on the edge, but no water in sight.
Kept digging, and kept my string of 50+ block tunnels with no diamonds alive.
Came back to the lava pool cave to see if the cave went anywhere. Turns out there was a torch on the other side. Whoever owns that hut by the lava pool next to spawn, your long straight mine ends up almost under my house over in the woods.

you haven't encountered it on your modded 1.10.2 server because it's modded. vanilla has a built in "anticheat" function that caused tick rate issues until server crashed whenever someone with client side mods connected. that has now been fixed.
