I did some quick checking and it seems like it may be too expensive for me to fly all the way there. Flying to and back from Chicago costs less than 100$ though - is there any way for me to get to Charleston from Chicago, Midway in a timely and cheap fashion?

Oh, well if you're coming from Chicago...take the Amtrak from Union station to Mattoon, it's like 17 bucks . We'll pick you up from the train station, too!

I checked and your proposed travel plans are reasonable. I am semi confident I will come to either this or Thespival, but it is unlikely I will come to both. /in at 35%? (70% x 50%[this or Thespival])

Deciding between the two is impossible. .

I'm not going to add to the MTG draft list anymore, we know we have enough people if we want to do it (not saying that only people on the list can play, just that there's enough interest to justify getting a box if we want to). I have a cool LOST game that we need to try with a large group (10 players). roland, inhim, and i tested it out and it was pretty fun. So any big LOST fans, let me know and we will try to play the game.

Also Risk fans, I have been making a giant risk board so roland and inhim and some of my other friends could play like real generals. if there is interest in that let me know. but you would need to buy your own pieces and paint them before hand (Dollar Tree has the men for $7 total if you want the cheap kind).











This is my first map I'm making. Yes that is southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and western Kentucky. I was also earlier in the week. Its now has painted territories. I'll probably post pics with us sipping scotch and smoking big cigars when we have the final product.

Thespival is looking like it will be easier for me to make it to. It is a great shame that both are in the same summer and that airfare is so prohibitively expensive. I'm at something more like 0% now.

Well, I would love to do both, and it seems just too much travel hassle to fly to Chicago, get a cab, get to the train station, and take a train. Getting from the airport to the train station to your house seems difficult, and I would hate to have to do that for the return journey; it would be almost an all day time thing. Also, depending on flight and train schedules, it might be very difficult to arrange actually making the flight home. With the train costing 17$ and the flight costing 100+ at this point, is almost as expensive to go to yours as it is to Thesp's.

Also, you and the KY crew are possible to go to Thespival, so if I am only doing one, I would want to go to the one where the most possible people would be there .

Also, your event is like two weeks from now; it is just too soon, I just got back from a 3 week Spain trip, then your even in 2 weeks, and I would go from that to home to the beach... it would just be too much all at once.

wow thats almost every type of risk you can have. inhim has the lord of the rings risk. i have the normal and star wars clone wars edition. does anyone have 2210AD or star wars the original trilogy?


i seriously doubt we go to Thespvial if thats what your basing which one your going to. There is a chance that we absolutely love it and we are so addicted that we have to come back a month later.

BUT, inhim already said he cant do thespival.
and then money issues for me.
not to mention roland only working weekends, so he would have to ask off again.

im just trying to use thespival as leverage to stay longer at MOS faire.

I've already proposed Thespival to my folks and filled up my calendar where MosFaire goes, so Thespival is still a maybe and MosFaire is out of the question.

I'm probably not going to have Godstorm by the time this rolls around (It's in the mail, but not soon enough to bring it to me from Kentucky. I doubt the KY crew would be willing to pick it up for me )

roland and i could get a half a day more if we caught up with you. but that will be too much trouble for just a little bit more time. and it would hold you back till Thursday night. plus i'll probably will need that time to do some stuff around the house, pack, etc.

Update: I believe I've been able to talk to most people about this but for those who don't know, MoS-Faire will be starting Friday, 2 pm, June 22nd, instead of Thursday. I have a test Friday morning for my summer class, so I can't make it on Thursday.
