I refuse to give any added power to springlullably (or any other player, for that matter) without guaranteeing their death first. Else we're just negating the purpose of the game, aren't we?

That, or if springlullaby commits suicide and turns up town like I think, then it makes sense that most if not all the mafia are/were on her wagon.

Why? I do not believe self-voting is a pro-town action, and would think that a fair proportion of the town would agree. Why, then, would a wagon on an anti-town player be more likely to consist of a large number of opportunistic scum than a large number of who would be, from their own perspective "doing the right thing".

Not all town wagons are scum driven.

In games with mandatory deadlines, I like to take up as much of the available time as is useful. Discussion was still fairly active, I saw no real reason to cut it short.

This is an important point and very true.

a) Whether we like it or not, this game is about autocracy, day one is only a brief respite.

At no point did I say or imply that this was false. I said this was a bad thing.

b) Concept such as 'good tyrant' exists, having a good absolute ruler presents advantages and certainly leverage.

This relies on the person making the decision to be:
1. Not corrupt (Pro-town).
2. Right about who the scum are.

In the democratic situation, everyone has decision making power.
In the autocratic situation, a single person has the decision making power.

Now, in a democratic system, everybody has to be careful to prevent themselves being accused of being scum by the majority.
In the autocratic situation, the person in power can do whatever the hell they want, regardless of what everyone else thinks. There can be one very obvious scum left to everyone else, but if the man in charge doesn't see it, what good does that do?

I disagree with autocracy being leverage as it has the worst worst-case scenario, in comparison to the democracy's worst case scenario, the "best worst-case scenario".

DGB: I guessed you would do something along these lines. Asking springlullaby to be specific and select one of the others. That will work if springlullaby is scum and lists two townies and a scum (

) in her list and then selects a townie.

Anyway I will assume that the majority opinion tomorrow at least will have some inpact on the coming choice of infections and use the common way of thinking.

Ooh, I forgot to take deadlines into account when I dismissed the Mouse for today. You raise a fair point, the Mouse will probably break the ties, which makes how the Mouse's vote is determined more relevant.
