TBH this is all that matters and is why this should have never been brought up for vote. At the very least, with this being the stance, Maru should have been the one in here starting the discussion on the mod and trying to sell us on its merits before voting should have even been considered. IMO anyways.

Well we've been told we need to take community more often, ESPECIALLY with regard to things that the Admin team doesn't want at all and would nix on principle.

I just don't want another drama issue happen like with rob. I want you all to have some input, which multiple members of this community has expressed an interest in.

There's also something to be said for the fact that the Yay's are mostly those players whose presence has increased on the Modded Server, while the Nay's are mainly the ones who've been around since and played/play frequently on Vanilla.

This is not even a major "content" mod, as you guys say (like IC2 was). I don't understand why it was even posed, tbh. I voted because I could, but I don't really care. It's not going to break the game either way and in all honesty, it doesn't add anything to our existing mods, or anything really game-changing. I'm surprised it wasn't nixed out the gate.

Yeah, I don't know why this even made it into admin discussions, let alone the thread. It's a terrible idea poorly executed - forget it and move on.

To be quite honest in return, it was posed because certain supportive members of the community may've flipped out if we'd nixxed it purely based on our own judgement - but it's good to know the rest of you think we should be handling things a little more internally. Glad we had this whole discussion though.

...except this didn't even need to be made into an issue in the first place. I could go find a hundred terrible mods that would make horrible additions to the pack; do we need to drag them all over the thread too so that the community has a say about them?

I have no problem, personally, with the Admin team asking for input. But like anything else, things can be overtalked and somethings really don't need to be discussed.

Not that I want to add to their paperwork burden, but if they would like to use informational posts, something like:

Creeper Mod: Looked into, discussed, rejected.

It does satisfy both criteria. They have informed the player base with some of the particulars without going into exhaustive detail and it does show the players that something new was discussed. That puts the onus on the players to research the mod, decide if they personally like it and then see if they can make a case to bring here as to why it should be included in the future.

Obviously, this wouldn't preclude the players from bringing their own Mod ideas forward nor would it keep the Admin team from bringing things here that they feel really do need some community discussion.

Either way izak, it looks like more people had more to say then you think, so yes, I think this was necessary.

Nobody's angry, nobody's leaving, we gained insight into what the community thinks we should do for future situations akin to this one.

It's not an issue izak, it never was. You're the only one who's making it seem like one ATM.

If I could give my two cents... I don't want to hear about all this stuff.

I don't have a lot of experience with mods, so my vote/input would be ill-informed. I want to be able to trust the admin team to determine the value of mod additions based on their experience (after all, is that not why those people are admins? I hope so). If I come across something I think would be interesting, I'd probably install it myself first and check it out so I could say something about it to the admin team. And at that point, I'd do it privately. IF and/or when the admin team decides it's something that could or would add some significant value to the game, then I would expect the community to be asked, but only after the admins look at all aspects of it regarding mod interactions, etc, given their experience. Because you know what happens when the community decides on something before the above has occurred? I blow up nodes and wisps run wild, that's what.
