Oh my god. If you thought the original was awesome...the original is completely, utterly unwatchable compared to this one. Just watch the first episode and come here and tell me your thoughts.

Part of it is that it's better produced, and part of it is actually that it adheres closer to the manga than the original anime did.

The music is also great, but the original had baller music too. It's also pretty fast. Virtually no filler. OCCASIONALLY I wish they took things slower -

Episode 58, starting from the negotiating of the hostage exchange with Chrollo and ending at the auction, probably should have been two episodes

- but when you watch something like Naruto, it's night and day how much faster and deliberate HunterxHunter 2011 is.

Naruto sucks, I love One Piece, and Sword Art Online was a great recommendation. So HXH will probs be good.

I will be watching the show but at a slower pace. I'll skip the flavour until I've caught up. Will the role PMs have any spoilers in them?

I'll try to minimize the spoilers, but of course, the role pms are bound to have some - the mere existence of the characters, if nothing else.

I'll rewrite them to be as spoiler-free as possible and draft some especially neutral flavor, as a sort of compromise.
