Still, I had fun playing in this game. Props indeed to Hayato, who successfully faked several moments that really made me think he was town - the vengeful claim was bold but ultimately disastrous as it demanded we lynch you anyway, though.

I was playing under the assumption that CDB was Mafia Traitor somehow. I thought the setup was unbalanced. Since none of us three have special roles, I thought we *must* have a traitor.

So, the moment CDB starts attacking me, I thought that was my queue to 'let myself get lynched'. That's why I claimed Vengeful. I'll die, CDB gets town-cred and win in lylo/mylo.

I should stop making stupid assumptions. Glad the game is over.

Given the setup that was actually reasonable to assume. I was assuming that if the last mafia was also a goon, they had to have some sort of faction ability.

I managed to find out a total of no scums (I know I was on the wagon but that was because the wagon was the only one possible/it made sense). Any tips? I seem to have a habit of getting into town v town too often.

Frog, different strategies work well for different people. I, for one, am pretty mediocre at reading a player's posts and determining alignment from them. I'm also not very good at determining someone's alignment by getting in to a heated back and forward with them (generally when I do that it is because I'm already fairly certain of their guilt and looking to get other votes on them).

What I am very good at is assessing the situation. I look at how wagons formed, how they fell apart, how easily they formed, and determine who is scum based on that. If a player is scummy as hell, gets run up to L-1 or L-2 then another player does something sort of scummy and gets lynched, there's a good chance the first wagon was scum. Competing wagons are rarely all on town. Scum are very difficult to lynch, whereas bad townie is very easy to lynch. Too little resistance on your wagon likely means you're wrong, whereas too much resistance that makes no sense likely means you're right.

Also some people prefer town hunting, and I do this too sometimes. Try finding a block of players that, for the purposes of that day, will not be lynched because of the fact that they are probably town. With the rest of the pool being much smaller, you have a much higher chance of finding scum.

Basically, if something isn't working out for you try a different mindset. If you've been avoiding rereads, give them a try. If you've only been looking at players in ISO, try looking at players within context (i love using multiple tabs). If you tend to only go through the gist of things, try reading players carefully in ISO. If you find yourself with too much confirmation bias, question your own reads. Look at possibilities where you might be wrong. Things like that.

Well, I believe there are moments, when bussing your scum partner doesn't earn you town-cred. For instance, the moment when somebody clearly has a role info on your scum partner.

So, I decided to defend you, instead of bus you since bussing you would be the normal scum-reaction at that time. Also defended SoS for the same reason.

Unfortunately for me, don likes using Occam's razor so much.
