Joe Diamond and Diana Stanley faced eachother amidst the sand dunes that had blanketed Arkham, caught in a face-off: Joe's .45 automatic looming large in comparison to Diana's miniature .22 Derringer, but at close range each would be equally deadly.

"Skids" O'Toole wavered on the sidelines, not sure who to support. Diana harangued him while keeping her small pistol aimed squarely at Joe; the detective, for his part, seemed detached from the ordeal, tersely answering O'Toole's questions but not otherwise interjecting, more intent on watching the reformed cultist than getting involved in conversation.

Finally, "Skids" made up his mind, hurling himself into action against Joe Diamond; as he tried to batter the large automatic out of Joe's hands, he could see out of his peripheral vision Diana Stanley coming up alongside the wrestling pair, carefully aiming her Derringer, tentacles erupting from her mouth as she chanted, "

"Skids" awoke from the nightmare in a cold sweat, sticking to the bedsheets, his body chilled even in the humid summer night let in through the open window. A few moments to steady his breathing, quiet his thumping heart rate, and then he rose from the bed, softly padding from one side of the small room to the other. As he paced back and forth, he repeated the words the doctor had told him to say, "That didn't happen, it was just a dream." Today was Friday; that meant that Diana would be coming to visit him as part of his treatment. The thought alternately alarmed and comforted him. He ruminated on the matter until he felt calmer, more in control. Finally, returning to the bed, he tried to settle down to sleep once more, interrupted only once by another asylum inmate's cries from their own personal nightmare.

As usual, a tremendous "thank you" to all of my replacements. As a mod, I'm quite glad I didn't need to get any after N1.

Was slightly annoyed that 2/3 of the Cult team was the same as from the first iteration of this game, but what are you going to do? Randomizers gonna randomize, yo.

A lot of Night action choices didn't make sense to me as a mod: a lot of people targeting Blue Bonnet, for instance, whose power is that they can redirect to someone else. GuyInFreezer choosing to let the abductor live. hitogoroshi choosing to busdrive instead of kill N3, when the only Town powers remaining were the abductor and the redirector, neither of which would ever know if they were busdriven.

GuyInFreezer's fear that PhDScar had targeted him N2 and his premature, "I'm scum, yo" was really dreadful (no offense, GiF); the slight pause in the game that occurred shortly thereafter was me verifying with him that he was, in fact, playing to win, which I judged him to be trying to do.

When we both decided to not lynch DryFit on Day 5, and you went for BB and I went for Hito, how big of an influence was I switching you to Hito?

I guess what I mean was, do you think if the lylo had been You Hito and BB, without me saying anything, how likely would you have been to lynch Hito instead of BB?

well, i was kneejerking onto bb to get discussion rolling. once i actually thought abt it for a second and reevaluated i felt pretty certain it was hito, especially when i remembered to look at dryfits interactions. however i think that if we had lynched dryfit and done a hito/me/bb lylo bb would have voted me for some irrational reason or other.

having you confirmed and there definitely streamlined the whole thing though. i was a little worried that you might not ever really get into the game after d1 when i copped you n1 but im real happy w. the way it panned out.

I almost sunk into Apathy like, twice this game. The day 1 lynch sucked because I was certain PhD was scum, and my reads were just off. I had a dislike of Hito from the minute he said he didn't use his ability N1 (on D2) but then Overtoast was just scummy as fuck and it sort of got me out of apathy. Then when he was town, I almost fell into apathy again, but Radioactive Wolf being so damn terrible as confirmed town, and realizing I needed to be a better confirmed town to help carry out this game got me back into it in time to think about stuff. And really, when we lynched Inte, I wasn't certain about him, but I didn't want him in endgame. It was Him or Hito, in my mind. Because BB was a strong town read for me from Day 1, and you were a strong town read after N1 because of how you played the cop.

In the end, this only confirms to me that I think you played a much better game than I did, but I'm still proud of my ability to be able to pull out the W with you.

I want to apologize to hito and Sajin for slipping. I've been busy lately and while I was able to keep up with the thread I wasn't able to give the setup the considerations it required. I'm going to be going on a break from mafiascum for the foreseeable future.

That deadline extension was very unfortunate for us, but it was the right call by the mod. Even still we had a fair chance if we hadn't screwed it up.
