does alchemist's claim seem strange to anyone? first, it seems a bit too easy a wincon. second, claiming the role seems to make it more difficult to win, so the claim doesnt make sense

You nailed it. Some of us (myself included) would try to claim or hint a role on RVS for the lolz. It also serves to hide any potential serious crumbs made by other TPRs. (I wish I could explain more, but I can't without revealing a couple of things I don't wish to reveal at this time, so maybe sometime later)

I think it’s easier for me to just ask for help rather than hope I can bait Night Actions my way. There’s a lot of positive Town utility to my role. I can confirm a claim by making them target me and seeing if I get a 1-shot copy of their ability, and at the cost of losing a Town action on one Night we can double up that action on another Night which would be extremely useful in PoE situations.

That's an actual true piece of info though? I get your probably gunless so ya don't know but I do got an NRA card, so if I may be so bold, that's an obvious sign of what a gunsmith would check for.

If I didn’t want to be targeted by anyone as scum I would play the way I always do. Town doesn’t have to help me for their sake but I don’t know how to bait actions onto myself without risking a NK.
