Unvotefor now. I'm at work so can't prepare a full analysis right now, but will check this properly tomorrow.
Quick question though first - Ultima: Are you saying that when you proposed a roleclaim, you did not actually want one? If so, why did you propose it?Some people might remember me as Aelyn...

Regarding Empking. Are Posting restrictions common here? Where I played mafia before here I have not seen a serious game with a posting restriction. If it is more common here I would be much less suspicious of him, but to me it sounds like a really weird claim, and possible an excuse to not help with scum hunting.-

Uh, no, it was an attempt to do so while we cross our fingers and hope he isn't modkilledSpyreX wrote:Normally true, but it still was an attempt to do so versus getting him modkilled.
@jakep
They don't pop up every game, but they're common enoughAlyG: If he's not a joke account then what is he? He starts bandwagons on himself and insults other people.-

I thought I had made it clear that he should only try to prove that he has a PRifhe knew he wouldn't be modkilled for it. Even then, I don't feel that it's necessary to test it.
Nuwen, could you respond to the end of post 87 by Porkens?
Shinnen no Me, speculation about power roles is rarely a good thing. I don't like how you're seem unusually hung up on Emp's post restriction. Nobody cares if you're still concerned about it. If you think he's suspicious, you're going to have to find something else to pin on him, as I doubt this town would be willing to lynch him just for claiming a post restriction.-

Placing someone I thought was an obvjester at L-2 would have been very poor play.Porkens wrote: Nuwen, I've got mixed feelings about your post; I agree with what you said about the context of Rok's statment, but I find the vig direction a little much. Especially in light of the fact that you aren't even voting for UA.
But since UA has now reversed his position and admitting to trolling for reactions, bigFOS. I don't want to create an L-1 situation on page 5, but "did is for reactions" is too convenient of an explanation for anti-town behavior to permit in the meta. My not-vote on UA would be half policy, half usual scumhunting. So high, so low, so many things to know.

Thank you for repeating an unclear statement you had already made. I am asking for an explicit response: Did you actually want a mass nameclaim? Yes or no?UltimaAvalon wrote:@tzeentchUA wrote:Did you notice that the random stage didnt even last a whole page? I did, and it's glorious. Some people might remember me as Aelyn...

uh....no. If there's a Jester, the play is to lynch him asap.Nuwen wrote:Placing someone I thought was an obvjester at L-2 would have been very poor play.
You're the only one who wants this. What purpose does it serve?Tzeentch wrote:

And how are the RVS related to you first suggesting a mass name claim and later saying that you never wanted one?UltimaAvalon wrote:Shinnen_no_Me wrote:If you never wanted one, why did you propose it? And why did you even offer first if you never wanted one?

Shortening the random voting stage just purely for a sake of shortening it is pointless. Especially when it pretty much leads to the same thing: a bandwagon on someone. All you did is to draw the bandwagon to yourself. Is that what you want?
Unless you actually are the mafia, it's an anti-town behaviour. The only thing you accomplish is to draw attention away from actual scum-hunting to you.-

Hm. Let’s see what the others say…UltimaAvalon wrote:You're the only one who wants this. What purpose does it serve?Shinnen_no_Me wrote:If you never wanted one, why did you propose it? And why did you even offer first if you never wanted one?

Why do you think it was short? (I want an answer about the town not you)SpyreX wrote:What purpose does "shortening" it in such a manner actually serve?
What reactions or information did this give except make you look scummy?
These are real questions.
Yeah, they all understand.PsychoSniper wrote:Shortening the random voting stage just purely for a sake of shortening it is pointless. Especially when it pretty much leads to the same thing: a bandwagon on someone. All you did is to draw the bandwagon to yourself. Is that what you want?
Unless you actually are the mafia, it's an anti-town behaviour. The only thing you accomplish is to draw attention away from actual scum-hunting to you.
Doing something inherently scummy is suspicious, whether it’s because you actually had suspicious motives or because you simply wanted to make an attempt, misguided or not, to prompt discussion.
However, we have no way of knowing why you made that play. So we naturally have to take it at face value – which is scummy.
What's more, turning around now and saying “I was just trying to speed past the random voting” is suspicious, simply because of a variant of LAL – you have either done something for suspicious reasons, or you tried to mislead us into thinking you wanted something you didn’t. Either way, you tried to mislead the town. And that is plain scummy, no matter how you look at it.
Vote: UltimaAvalon– I’m happy with my vote there for now. Some people might remember me as Aelyn...

It sounds like regardless of his answer, you're comfortable with hammering him.Shinnen_no_Me wrote:I still want to UA to answer my question before voting for him.
He ended the RVS by providing other players with a reason to vote for him, transitioning votes from random to real. At best, this behavior is severely anti-town because it detracts from pursuing other scum tells and focuses the town's attention on his contrived attempt to jump-start discussion. So high, so low, so many things to know.
