Mini #582: Meta Mafia Mini! GAME OVER!

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Thu Mar 27, 2008 3:10 pm

Post by the silent speaker »

Welcome, one and all, to my Meta Mafia Mini. The theme is what it says in the title, and it's a little experimental, but I think this game will be a useful addition to mafia theory when all is said and done. It should be a fun game. Some say I'm crazy for even trying this, but I say those people have been slaughtered by half-spider half-robot monstrosities.

Day 2 begins here.
Day 3 begins here.
Day 4 begins here.

Rules:

1. It's a game. Have fun.

2. See rule 1.

3. To have your vote or unvote count, it must look like this:
(un)vote: [name of player]
. An unvote is not necessary for a vote to count unless otherwise specified, but I would appreciate them as courtesies.

4. If [name of player] gets more than 50% of the players alive voting for him, he is immediately lynched and the game is in twilight. Once I check the thread and post a death scene, the game is in night.

5. There is no talking if the game is in night, unless your role specifies otherwise. You may talk in-thread (or out-of-thread if your role permits) while the game is still in twilight, but no votes or unvotes will count.

6. There is to be no communication out-of-thread of any kind unless yor role specifies otherwise. Even then, such communication is limited to twilight and night, never day. Codes, ciphers, and so forth are permitted only to the extent that they can be picked up on or deduced by someone reading with no outside knowledge or code-cracking tools; in practice this means basically 14-15-20 13-21-3-8 8-1-18-4-5-18 20-8-1-14 20-8-9-19. Yjod epiaf sadp nr svvrqysnar.

7. Quoting a PM from me is a capital offense. This is true whether the purported quote is accurate, erroneous, or fraudulent. The final judgment of whether your post was intended as a modquote is reserved to me alone.

8. Any requests in-thread to change one's alignment will result in (1) that alignment being changed to Serial Killer and (2) immediate modkill.

9. There is no talking once deceased. My half-spider half-robot monstrosities are good at what they do.

10. No choice means no action.

11. While I will prod as necessary,
if you go an entire day without posting and an entire night without sending in a night choice, you are subject to replacement without warning.

12. I reserve the right to set a deadline if discussion is stalling. At deadline, a supermajority (2/3) of all votes cast is needed to lynch, with a minimum of three votes cast to draw the supermajority from.

13. As moderator, I am always right. As co-mod, Awesome Pants is always right unless I contradict him. By process of elimination, all mistakes you discover have been made by you. When you discover that you have made a mistake, please point it out to me so that I can correct you.

14. Night choices may be pre-sent at any time. They will be implemented the following night unless contradicted so long as the sender is still alive at that point and has not named any dead people.

15. Unless otherwise indicated, standard Mafiascum rules apply. Have fun!

I think it's pretty clear that TSS's awesomeness did alter the roles each of us recieved, and thus he's obviously pro-town. -- Save The Dragons

Good morning, everybody except Greasy Spot, who alas is no longer among us. Are you all bright and fresh and eager to root out the bad guys among you?

Then get voting, people! Not you, EmpTyger; you have no vote today. (You can still post and FOS to your heart's content, but your vote doesn't count toward a lynch.) Primate, you have two votes today, so if you want to unvote, please specify that you are unvoting and who you are unvoting.

Greasy Spot, roleswitcher
has died. 11 available votes means 6 to lynch.

I'm not even sure what a "Meta" game is. So, no, I guess.

But based on the title of the game, we'll obviously have three scum, a cop, and a doc, because that's normal. Clearly.

I have this giant spinning wheel at home. I call it the wheel of truth. I put each of your names along its edges and spun it. It never lies. It stopped on Primate.

The above format seems the best way to avoid confusion with my double vote, imho, I'll use a different one if you want.

I would imagine TSS is trying to use this game to either prove or disprove a point about mafia theory or setup design. I have no idea what that point is though.

As my first act of D-1,
FOS everyone
.

With that, I too have no idea what "meta" mafia would be, unless the information that is available so far could produce something.... We have a roleswitcher dead, a member of the town without a vote (i.e. a role blocker?), a member of the town with two votes (i.e. a vote doubler?). Meta to me seems to imply that there are some roles that can have a dramatic influence behind the scenes.

Just basic obvious points from the above. Carry on.

I'm happy this one has finally started. I'm NOT happy because somehow mneme has multiple votes on him and it precludes me from "randomly" voting him. So I guess I will
vote mathcam
as that's pretty close.

(see sig for joke)
"1AM .. not a good time to think I started mixing massive and mathcam" - Totem, DP8
"unvote mlaker; vote massive; It's like MeMe/mneme and Corsato/Cadmium" - Dragon Phoenix, Newbie 38
PLEASE NOTE: I actively avoid being online on weekends! Don't replace me just because of this!

Mr Stoofer,
I am guessing that your vote change wasn't due to a random thing. It seems like you put some thought behind it. Explain please.

While you are at it, please explain your definition of lurker and contribute something more than vote/unvote/vote. Your accusations should be followed by some sort of reasoned conclusion.

The clock is ticking my good man.

Ok.

Unvote, Vote Kingpin Mneme
.

I'd think Kingpin's post would be scummy if he wasn't an old school player who hasn't played in a while.
