Thinking BM is scum based on those votes is a classic case of WIFOM overuse. In addition, I *do* think that BM would try a bit harder to control what he says as scum. At best, if you don't consider it a town tell, no one should consider it any more than a null tell. If it's a null tell, it should be ignored, so people should not be voting him. If you consider it a town tell, you should also not be voting him. Therefore, I see no logical reason for anyone to vote him based on the mason votes. I think it's pretty dumb to do otherwise.

The sequence around post 200 bothers me more than anything. I read it over a few times just to make sure I wasn't missing anything. Basically, DP votes for Jordan. Then, after Jordan makes what in my mind is a mediocre, metagaming post (198), DP declares himself satisfied and unvotes (202). Of all the vote/unvote sequences, this makes the least sense. I think that was some sort of timid distancing attempt.

Jordan, in addition to the above, just gives me a bad feel. Something about his pbpas seem non-commital, and I dont' like the way he's more or less deflected talk of his own scumminess. It's as if he doesn't really want to get involved in an argument about it, particularly with MoS.

Porochaz, on the other hand, has just made a series of scummy moves. I dont' like post 99, or especially post 209. FTR, I do NOT believe that BMs insistance on voting for masons means anything other than he's lazy. It looks like poro just wants something to latch onto.

in case you werent aware, (i have pointed this out several times elsewhere, and its almost certainly true of your own inbox) there is a limited amount of pms you can have at any one time. As of a few months ago, mine are deleted automatically after a certain time period. I keep track of my roles in games separately, but amazingly, i dont keep record of specific flavour.

Any replacements since Patrick took over the game should also be able to vouch for me on this. I'm looking at you Lowell.

And I'm saying that in less than 2 months (the time since the game started and our inbox space was doubled), I don't see how BM could have gotten enough PMs to push his role pm all the way through the 4 pages of his inbox so that it disappeared.

I dont understand why people (Gage, pete d, Albert B. Rampage) re still voting for our claim doc..any reason why those voting for him want to do the mafia work for them?

Why are you assuming that mafia will automatically take him out? When I was scum and there was a suspicious claimed doc, we left them alive for day 2 to screw with everyone (but they got vigged anyhow).

The reason for Mafia to get rid of doc-Battle Mage is the same as for any other doctor... because they don't want their nightkill interfered with. That doesn't change just because Battle Mage is likely to be lynched tomorrow. Additionally, if Battle Mage is scum, you've just provided an excuse for him when he's not nightkilled.

This is what we have cops for. I'm not saying that a cop should definitely investigate Battle Mage, because that guarantees that the mafia will kill him if he is innocent, but they should consider it. And if this post baits the mafia into killing BM, so much the better. They're doing the work for us so we don't have to.

MoS, who has yet to weigh in on Unright at all, ignores the issue entirely and votes Jordan for his DP vote and FOSes ABR for agreeing. I didn't like this post at all. MOS clarifies in post 62 that his reasons for this are meta re: DP's play. Odd that in post 58 he gave no indication that he had meta reasons for his argument. Rather, he spoke as though it was something Jordan and ABR should know. Here's the post:

If his reasons for thinking it’s a nulltell are meta, why would he assume Jordan and ABR should know this to the point that it merits a vote? And why wouldn't he mention that at the time he voted? Then, when he has to explain that his argument only holds water if you have the meta he has, why doesn't he unvote? Not only does he not unvote, he holds the vote until now and is still voting Jordan. For what, exactly? For not having the meta on DP that MoS has?

I think Jordan and/or ABR have played in other games with DP where he did this, so I assumed it to be rather obvious. Not to mention the fact that it was not the ENTIRE reason for my belief that DP was not scum in saying that. I still stand by the original argument that I made when I voted Jordan. I explained quite thoroughly why DP's action did not make him scum, and I mentioned nothing about a meta about him, as you so kindly pointed out. So the fact that I *also* have a meta on him is just additional evidence, not the *only* evidence.
