Before the challenge is posted, all rookies must now submit a list ranking the remaining 3 veterans, and vice versa. If two people mutually rank each other as #1, they will become partners. After that, everyone will receive their highest ranked partner possible.

Throwback to 2013, where the first game I ever ran on-site was The Amazing Race, with Xalxe, and I've loved being a part of this site ever since. The Amazing Race itself has existed in both iterations of Reality Show X, and was altered by pablito recently in Scummie-nominated Worldwide Flight Race. It's a classic show, a classic game, and the penultimate challenge here in Clash of the Mash.

Rules

In The Amazing Race, you will face 3 types of tasks: Route Information, Detours, and Roadblocks. You'll compete as a pair, facing one task after another, in an effort to finish in the fastest time possible.

Route Information

Route information tasks are the most standard type of challenge you can run into. Both teammates may collaborate in doing whatever the task asks of you, using any sources you can find. Upon completion of the task, you will be given your next clue.

Detour

A detour requires that you choose one of two tasks to complete. You will be given a short, vague description of each task before you make your selection. You may switch choices if you decide that the task you picked is too difficult, but you must wait 5 minutes before you get your new choice. Again, you may use any outside sources to help you complete the task.

Roadblock

Before being given the roadblock, you will receive a vague description of what the task entails, after which you must choose one person from your team to complete the roadblock. That person must do it all on their own with no help from their partner. You may not switch out once you've made your selection.

. . .

You will complete this challenge in a private topic created for the challenge at a time when both players in a pair can be online. Speed is of the utmost importance, as the pair with the slowest time will be eliminated from the game. The remaining two pairs will move onto the final challenge, which is an individual battle. Good luck.

We've talked it over with all remaining players to make sure they're okay with this, but it's official. This will now be the final challenge due to its sheer complexity, and the fact that it's far more epic than the planned final challenge would be. The winning pair will become the ultimate champions of Clash of the Mash.

It's time for the final results.

One team failed to finish. That was....

Spoiler:
Shadoweh and Save The Dragons.

The top 2 teams were separated by a time of 6 minutes, after appropriate time credits, even though they both took almost 3 hours!

Spoiler:
The winning team, and the 2016 Clash of the Mash champions are...

KLICK AND HASCHEL!

Congratulations to both of you, and to Xalxe and racefan, for fighting as hard as you did throughout this whole process. I've loved spending all these months running all of these games for people in the community, new and old. I hope we didn't lose too many people along the way with all the delays. If this happens again in 2018, we'll definitely try to slim the format down, but I hope at the end of the day everyone enjoyed themselves a lot.
