The only true way to play a pokemon game.
Sight-nuzlocking XY was really easy because the game literally gives you a Mega Lucario >.>

I've never actually played X past the first gym before so I'm nuzlocking my first every run through of it. I've already lost one
and I killed the fucking skitty so I didn't get anything there either. This run is feeling pretty hard.
The game gives you a free Mega Lucario.
It's really dumb.

Yeah XY is a really easy game to Nuzlocke.
Hardest is probably Emerald.

Brawly's not the problem in Emerald once you've done it a few times. You can usually get 1-2 pokes that can deal with him.
Sparky and Norman are the problems.

Or rather, Sparky is a problem because he makes you start mudkip, who's not amazing for the rest of the game :/

Uh, original game is super, super easy.
There's this pokemon called Nidoran that's insanely common and also completely broken. Also guaranteed Gyarados.

Emerald has so many places where your Nuzlocke can just die. It's probably the hardest game to Nuzlocke (GSC is pretty bad if you can't get past MILTANK, but other than that there aren't really any problems).
XY is probably the easiest to Nuzlocke because free MEGA LUCARIO GOD DAMMIT.

I'll do a Nuzlocke first play. It's the ultimate test of skill in Pokemon other than actually playing competitive.

Time to sight-Nuzlocke. May make an exception to the 1-catch rule for Rare Bone if I end up with a cubone.

There were a few random "wow I could really wipe here" spots randomly in the first few hours that I played last night, which was surprising.
Also the game doesn't do as clear of a job defining routes/zones as previous games, so you have to play that by ear a bit.

This is how I'm doing it, since it most-closely mirrors how previous games would have defined it, I feel.

Well I have now lost both my birds.
Also having firecat starter and alolan meowth is probably bad long-term, but for now I don't really have anything better. Also Gengar-Line is probably bad because can't get Gengar w/o trading.

Right now my main guys are Litten (w/e he evolved into)/magnemite/meowth/cottonee. I lost my toucan-line dude to Hala, sadly, and I already have lost a wingull. I do have a spearow for fly later down the road, but I have no interest in training him up.

At that point in the game, it was very unlikely that you had captured a mon which even had any regularly effective moves against it (with Steel/Electric being one of the most resistant typing combinations) unless you'd picked Litten, so you were kinda left stranded against it.
Yeah I picked Litten, which let me wreck through it.
The last kid's grimer was what fucked me. Stab Bite is really strong at that point in the game.

Also, let me just say: Having a huge probability of getting cottonee early in the game is absolutely bonkers.

Currently doing it, but haven't played in a while.
I picked Litten, which in retrospect has been A REALLY GOOD CHOICE based on how you guys all describe the trainer school magnemite (although I also had a magnemite at that point)
I did X/Y blind with 0 casualties, ftr.
