I'm not sure what to think about this whole exchange. While I can see the pros, that we could keep recycling our roles, we also have to realize that if the role is switched, it is highly likely that the same people will be, for example, investigated by the cop role, because the "new" cop would not know who the former cop had investigated. I think it is a good backup plan, but I do not think it should be our first and foremost plan, because of some of the risks, such as outing our roleswitcher and re-opener, and the like.

I should not have used the word outed. I meant it would lower the scum's choices, as we would have some people confirmed as power roles which are not the switcher or re-opener... understand? Not sure if I explained that well or not...
@OffTheMark... you are your name... is it not possible to be on the fence about something? I see both pros and cons to the plan, and while I said I think it could work, I said it would work better as a secondary, not primary plan. Read my whole post before deciding if I am noncommital.

I am going to have to say that Thanatos comes out on top of this one. He is taking unneeded heat from this, just for holding to his opinion. He brings up good points. Phate's plan does have flaws, I can't see why he just doesn't admit it, but that is Phate's playstyle. I've been suckered into thinking he was scum for it before, so I'm not going to vote him for it. But I think Phate's plan could work, but it would take luck, extenuating circumstances, but I don't like the town running full blown into a plan that could cripple us as well.

I still consider him trustworthy as town, but I do not find it fun to be a "teammate" with someone like this and I almost want to vote him off just to improve the game.

This seems to me like OTM is trying to set himself for later if he decides to lynch Phate, and Phate comes up town. He can refer back to this post and be like, eh, even if he isn't scum, we are better off without him, which is bullshit. A townie has power just by being alive and holding a vote, or if they don't vote, at least they are increasing the number of votes it takes to lynch, which can be good or bad.

OTM's actions confuse me. It seems like he just kind of slipped up, in my opinion. Like, I could see it that he was scum just picking someone to go after and then realizing that he had no case and backing off, hoping no one would notice. But he could actually have some reasoning behind switching his thoughts on me. I could see it both ways, but leaning more on the scummier one. But I won't vote yet, because I believe we are getting a little close with OTM. I would like a vote count before I proceed to vote.

If you had posted the explanation first and not waited for us to ask, we could assume that the explanation is true. Well, if you had read my post, you would have seen that I said I was planning on putting OTM at -1 myself, but QuickBen beat me to it. And I don't feel confident enough yet to lynch OTM. The reason I think he is scum is because he voted after just skimming. I was planning on voting after much deliberation. A scum could just vote for the majority to seem like they are scumhunting easily enough.

Well, I can't come up with something extremely detailed atm, finals week and all, but in short I have a few observations:
Phate's playstyle, as I said before, is incredibly annoying at times, and some people jump on annoying as scummy with him. I did. So I could be perhaps a little too overcautious in dealing with him in this game. However, to determine a little more about the plan he came up with...
Think if someone else had come up with the plan. Like, in other words, if someone whose playstyle was different than Phate's had come up with the plan, how would you feel about the plan? I mean, it had its faults, but I found that Phate's playstyle magnified the feeling of scumminess around it, if that makes sense. It's hard to explain. Like, the fact that Phate's playstyle made us possibly see his plan in a different light than if it had through another person? Did that make sense? I am more inclined to leave it be for the time being, for meta reasons. But if he is scum, he won't be able to hide behind his playstyle all game long.

Panzer kind of confuses me. He seemed really committed to this game, and then he started lurking. Not sure what to think about it, leaning on slightly suspicious.

As for you, I haven't really seen where all the "spaghetti throwing" came from. I don't think you are flinging suspicion around all that much. I admit, there have been many FOS's, but I don't see any problem with that. I don't give FOS's much attention anyway. I find them to just be blowing smoke most of the time. I use them more along the lines of IGMEOY. FOS is just much shorter to type.

I see what Holy is saying. Instead of trying to determine from our two claimers which is cop, and possibly accidentally lynching our cop, we go after their claimed "confirmed scum." Can't use Phate, as that would defeat the purpose of the plan. But if we lynch QB and he is scum, then Phate wasn't lying and Thanatos is scum, and if QB is town, then Phate was lying and we lynch him. I think it could work.

For the record, I'm going to keep my vote on Phate. He hasn't defended himself nearly as well as Than. Now I am just trying to decide whether or not QB is scum or no.

A question for QB... it seems kind of advantageous to have protected the cop on at night. I mean, I don't recall any clues given by Than Day 1 with which to extrapolate that he was the cop. What made you choose to protect Than?
