XCOM Enemy Unknown is good! But honestly the DLC XCOM Enemy within is much much better. I still play it today, and I bought Enemy Unknown at launch.
Spec Ops is worth $20 on its own if you care about videogame storytelling at all. The trailers do it no justice, in fact, I recommend you stop looking at information on it and just jump in headfirst.
Mafia 2 is okay, it was a cut-rate period version of GTA for me.

I'm gonna do it for Thief and the Deus Ex maybe. I dunno, dude, it's a good bundle.
Thief Gold looks worth just getting the sub-price limited bundle if you don't have a lot of cash.

Firstly, to anyone who likes adventure games or stories or interesting characters, get in on this now. Don't wait. It's worth it.
Secondly, spoilerooooo:
Spoiler: Wolves
So, I think the finale is actually a curse of the branching story of these CYOA games. That it has to have multiple interpretations and multiple access points because players are coming to it with different information and different histories.
I personally really liked the fact that she lied in the trial and think that should have been the finale: Bigby has to choose whether he wants truth and justice, or whether he wants Fabletown to have a chance at stability. That's the question inherent in following her or letting her go. Speaking of which, does anyone else think Snow looked really fucking bad a running a town? She was struggling pretty hard all the way through this.
I also felt let down not seeing some closure with the Woodsman. He was honestly one of the more conflicted of characters, and it bothers me that Grendel was a bigger fixture in the end than him. The Wolf and The Woodsman's relationship is there all the way through the story, and then he doesn't rock up to the ending. It's a shame. Poor Woody.
Reference Kerbal Space Program: I can never play that game. I can't get a rocket to work that has more fuel than LEO and maybe return to earth. I can't even look at Mun.
Every time I try to learn I feel like I'm doing a tertiary engineering course just watching a youtube video. Which is a shame because I like the adventure and the exploration. I want to explore the galaxy with landers and shit.

So I've been enjoying letsplays lately, they're a real blast. Have any scummers made any and want some more exposure or just another view? I'd like to support you guys.
Watching letsplays of puzzle games is literally the most frustrating shit though.

It's a video that documents the experience of playing the game. It's great for horror games because I don't enjoy playing them but I love watching them and the whole experience. A let's play isn't a review, and is usually an unprepared first playthrough.

The first time I died was the first time it sold me, when he got promoted to captain. That and after I drained one then he ran away, his skin was bone white and every time we met he would talk about my shellfire.
Actually felt really alive, which is rare in games that talk of consequence and open world.

Huh, I've been playing shadow dragon and have been unimpressed. This explains a lot.
Oh I played This War of Mine today. I...seriously need some fucking hugs. This game is super dark and I don't know how to play it better without ruining lives.

Guys, get on steam if you can afford this game. It's amazing. It's so fuckin' great. Best 9 hours I've put into a game so far. I'm donating to War Child too, because fuck war, man.

Every game is either appealing to your emotions or appealing to a sense of fun (which I guess is kiiiind of the same).
Appealing to sense of fun != manipulation of emotions to fit an agenda
The agenda is to sell the product. The agenda is almost always to sell the product. If they are not selling you a product, they are selling you to someone else. That is how all media forms work.
BBM is also the most correct of mans.

Are you trying to say Transformers was some sort of GM advertisement?
Get outta here.
If you're going to talk about Transformers, don't worry about GM. Remember that Transformers was ALWAYS the product. It was designed to sell the action figures.

So, TALOS Principle is interesting enough. It's beautiful, it's fun enough, but I wouldn't say it's hard enough to keep the interest curve up. It's incredibly long for what it is.

For the price it's asking....I dunno. Took me 11 hours, but I pushed through because of story. The gameplay gets pretty boring after about 5 hours. Also the final mission doesn't have good checkpointing, but does have an interesting progression method. I wouldn't say it's original Bioshock levels of thinking in there, but it's got some interesting ideas on the nature of humanity and consciousness. Unfortunately these never really come to completion and it leaves it feeling like you've just read someone's philosophy notes: Sure it was thought provoking but it won't actually change you.

Let's face it, it's a FF story. Read a Wikipedia plot summary and accept that you won't be 100% invested.

Guys,
Hand of Fate
is amazingly fun. I totally recommend it. I've had so much fun in the last five hours with it, and I'm excited to get back to it. It's like 20% off on steam right now.
The gameplay is great: Batman Arkham style combat taking place in the spaces between a Tarot-esque deckbuilding card game between you and a...wizard? The devil maybe. It's fantastically thematic and a real blast, worth the price right now with the sale and all.
