Vote: UltimaAvalon
- why the rush?

Also, could we bloody well agree as a town to nuke those who launch without reason, this time? If you haven't read the prior game, please do so...
multiple pro-town players nuked multiple pro-town roles Day One
, one more died Night One, and the game was
over
. I'm certain we can do better, but it starts with actually utilizing the deterrent of Mutually Assured Destruction.

Hmmm, smells like an independent Win Condition to me!

Vote: Albert B. Rampage
- your next response had better be more coherent than "because I can". This is not a good game-day for gambits.

Albert is a Loose Cannon. He could practically be claiming North Korea, except that would require Yos2 to have assigned roles based on players' personalities.

EBWOP: Nkunda, by the way, is presumably Gen. Laurent Nkunda from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. I don't actually think Albert is N. Korea, just that he's as erratic a player as Kim Jong-Il, and therefore can often be disregarded for D1 antics.

Uhhh, I'm pretty sure we're past the random voting stage, DoS.

I'd support a U.N. Resolution on sanctions up-to-and-including-nuclear-annihilation for Albert B. Rampage, yes. Maybe we can pseudo-vote on this sort of thing?

Well, that was interesting. I guess we have 47.75 hours to decide if Albert is a Lyncher or a Jester...

Archaist wrote:Of course, the other alternative is that the country set up in this game has nothing to do with who has nukes in real life.
The first game seemed to have that premise, but it was one of the criticisms, in that it made it extremely difficult to judge claims fairly.

I believe Albert is bluffing. I think he launched a conventional warhead and Yos' message indeed made him think his gambit had been ruined. As such, and since he is a vote leader, I won't be nuking back, but neither will I be claiming. If it is nuclear and I turn up town, his ass is dead in any case, and we're no closer to nuclear winter. Win-win for me.

Albert, I told you not to play gambits. Whether your
role
town or scum is really quite irrelevant at this point, as your
play
is decidedly anti-town.

NOBODY launch against ABR. He's effectively neutered himself in shooting early, whether it's a nuke or not. After his missile strikes me, either I'll be nuked town and he can be lynched, or his bluff will be done and we can decide what to do with him. If someone tries to nuke him, then he can try to retaliate and we'll just prolong the launch cycle (during which no lynches can take place, remember?).

The Missile Shield makes yesterday slightly less retarded, but not much. I'm not sure what to make of JDodge at this point. schismatized needs to bloody-well grow up, though. I cannot fathom why
any
of you thought nukes on D1 would be a good idea.

schismatized wrote:Also, where were my nukes shot down over? The nuclearness has got to be hurting whosever between me and dave.
Nuclear weapons are merely expensive "dirty bombs" if they don't detonate, so presumably any* radiation level of the missiles shot down is negligible for wherever they landed. The more interesting fact that needs to be observed is that nowhere does Yosarian2 state that it was
JDodge
's missile defense system that shot them down. It's extremely likely that it was Mother Russia's system, but not a sure thing. Just keep that in mind.

We've allowed ourselves to be distracted by ABR's asshattery today, but it probably can't be helped. If he feels that he is an asset to the town by acting in this manner, it is in our best interest to show him that it does not. Again, if my death occurs you'll see that he's lying about me being scum, and I see no reason to believe there would be a Congolese Lyncher/Jester in this game, so I believe we can lynch him with impunity. If he's scum, this is one of the more inane gambits I've seen since Stimpy left the site... but DoS' unvote is very interesting.

* Assuming they were nuclear at all, of course.

Ahh, thank you, I haven't kept up with this thread as well since my radar screens lit up since I'm probably "dead man talking".

Still, I think my point stands that the only useful thing to come out of today, if I die and ABR is lynched as town, will be to see who jumped on ABR's wagon, who stayed
off
that wagon (because they knew he really was town, of course), and what the reasoning was for each action.
