I'm not going to argue with you obviously, but I disagree with almost literally everything you wrote. And I feel like you're missing the entire point. Which is fine, you're appointed the arbitrary decider of these things, so you're just doing your job, but really that stings, because it's not simply any of the things you have mentioned, but several others as well.

But I am not going to advocate for my own title and I am not going to take up any more of the thread except to say I'm really really upset right now.

I don't think anyone arguing in favor of a title they like is outside the purview of the tf thread, especially because no one has even come close to saying something rude. What the actual fuck.

To me, to have people in this site, and especially people who i am not even particularly close to recognize and appreciate what I've been trying to do on this site with regards to personalizing and shrinking the chasm of the internet is deeply touching to me and actually almost brought me to tears at work tonight. I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart and it made me feel like my time here has meant something to people. So you can understand how I might have a different perspective to you.

To me it wasn't so much arguing as it was a group of people reaching out and hugging me. You can pretend that the internet doesn't matter but these connections are real and these people are real and these things produce real emotions. I don't know how anyone could see that outpouring and think 'this is meant to attack Chevre' I think Chevre is amazing. I'm pretty sure those people do too for the most part, but I don't think those had anything to do with him really.

Anyway, I'll leave the thread now.

This is from the mafia PT of a game that just ended. Read the thread up to that point. One of his scumbuddies called him Shea and he was so uncomfortable with the situation that his behavior in response to it caused his scumbuddy to replace out. Giving him a title that encourages more people to call him Shea seems like an absolutely awful idea.
I don't understand how it is relevant that I was uncomfortable with my scumbuddy being unwilling to tell me who they were when they clearly knew who I was.

But sure, be an asshole for no reason?

I'm not harassing anyone. I was uncomfortable with the person being unwilling to tell me who they are. It had nothing to do with them calling me shea. If they had demonstrated familiarity with me in any other way (say, "hey I noticed that you always do this as scum, try not to do it this game.") I would have reacted in the same way. I don't want to play mafia with someone who knows who I am, but is actively hiding who they are.

Shea is 100% irrelevent to it. And frankly this is a bizarre conversation.

DRK I called you an asshole not because you disagreed with me (Plenty of people disagreed with me on the title, and I didn't call them an asshole.) I am calling you an asshole because you are bringing up something that has nothing to do with the title in an attempt to torpedo it after it already has been accepted. Don't like the title? That's fine. Bringing up things that are not relevant in an attempt to attack it after it has already passed? Being an asshole. What's next? Are you going to bring up that I asked people in site chat to call me "TSQ" as a depressed joke after it didn't pass the first time? Is that relevant? I'm honestly flabbergasted that you went through my scum topics to dig up dirt on me that has no bearing on the current situation, and use it in the same vein as a political attack ad when literally you have no investment in this. Even if you don't like the title, there are tons of titles that are way way way less fitting and make way less sense. I didn't see you digging up any dirt about those titles? So it's hard not to read it as personal. Especially with how completely and utterly not relevant to the situation it is.

Once, again, it had nothing to do with them calling me shea. It was me being uncomfortable being scumbuddies with someone who knew who I was but was not willing to share with me who they were.

Nothing to do with shea. It was simply them calling me shea that alerted me to that familiarity.

title was nominated, nthed to infinity and rejected before I made my first post about it. I made 2 posts essentially saying "I am not going to argue with you chevre but I am upset"

Then I had a conversation about how people who supported my title made me feel emotional. Without once suggesting that I should get the title.

Then the title was accepted.

And we entered the phase where I either accept or reject it. And this shit came out of the wood work and has literally nothing to do with the title.

Begging LMAO. It's already been accepted.

I don't think I have anything that indicates that I think otherwise, but I think my input is appropriate at this point. Being accused of trying to beg for a title is just bizarre to me because I went out of my way to avoid even the appearance of that.

I even dmed Chevre to tell him that I still thought he was doing a great job and that I wasn't angry at him about his decision.

wasn't my intention. I understand discussion is fine, but I also think this period of time is at least partially for my input.

but I do think its amusing that the people who are now "discussing" after a decision was made are the same people who were trying to shout down people who were attempting to express that they supported the title and why after it was rejected, saying it was "disrespectful" to the title fairy.

shea do you not see how you posting in the thread about you being moved to tears could be seen as you campaigning for the title after it was rejected
Sure. If you're ignoring for the fact that I posted in the thread saying I respected chevres decision. Sure, if you ignore the fact that I was thanking people personally. Sure, if you ignore the fact that I was defending the people from being attacked for being disrespectful and not even talking about the title. Sure, if you ignore the fact that I messaged chevre privately to tell him he was doing a great job and how I respected his decision. Sure, if you ignore the fact that I left the thread after that and didn't in any way lobby chevre for the title or post in the thread asking for it.

People can see things in whatever they want to if they want to ignore all context.
