1. I did actually explain how I got my scum read. Everyone saw when I got it because they saw my vote, and I even explained why I voted him. I did this all in posts 169 & 201.
2. When I voted Zach nobody else was and now only 2 people are so how is that "joining a popular bandwagon" exactly?

Like I said if you are town stop saying things that aren't true. you have now twice said things about me that are lies so now I'm inclined to believe you are probably not town

Oh and since we are talking. If you are town please Never do a list read again. Nobody should ever do them again. They rarely actually help town, they are a good way to fake content, and if enough people do them they give scum too much information.

Thanks.

Because I like being difficult. It gets people uncomfortable and things are more interesting when people are uncomfortable.

In post 251, Dunnstral wrote:Now stop your babyrage and stop deflecting questions by calling me a liar

Did you forget this post?

Post 169 and 201 are where I do this. If that's not what you want and you want me to explain myself better all you had to do is ask. If you ask simple questions, I'm going to give you simple answers.

In post 251, Dunnstral wrote:I strongly disagree with this: I think read lists are a good way to show what you're thinking and to get other peoples opinions on things, it also shows what I'm thinking at the time so if I were mafia it would be harder to wiggle my reads around so to speak

Well to be honest nobody asked you and there's better ways to convey what you are thinking without actually doing a reads list. The best way is to wait for somebody to ask you without volunteering in an attempt to make it look like you are providing content.

That's the first time I've heard that. Any game I've ever been in, if someone votes and doesn't give an explanation, at least one person hounds down on them 'em demanding an explanation.
@Jake from State Farm what would be the advantage of not explaining a vote? I would think it's in the town's best interest to know.

Yea that actually happens and that's what should happen. People should question the people who vote without reason. What shouldn't happen though is people shouldn't scum read somebody for it (which happens and is pretty stupid cause it's not alignment indiciative)

I'm not sure if you would call it an advantage but it's just one of these things I do to stir the pot. It forces people to interact with me and by doing that I can kind of get a read on people. I can tell who's really curious like townies should be and who don't really care and just want to make a lot of noise. It's not full proof by any means but then again nothing in the game of Mafia ever is.

Do his good points make him more likely town?

Also, what are your thoughts on Dunn -- as in, why not vote him after your back-and-forth with him where you said he was lying?

Well yes I think it makes him likely town which is why I said that vote is probably not a good one.

I'm not voting Dunn cause I like my vote where it's at now. I will say dunn's avoidance of me now proves he was just doing that for show and has no real interest in trying to find out my reasoning and that worries me.

Right now I could vote for 3 people and would feel pretty good that each would flip scum based on what I've read so far. Well technically 2 cause I'm already voting one of them.

Well for starters he tries to say that the mascot for an American car insurance company who speaks with a British accent is somehow better than me.

But that aside his early posts were kind of meh. I didn't like how he answered on dunn's behalf. I personally can't stand when people do that. His and dunn's early interaction feels too
Cheeky but that's just a guy thing. His unvote on me without anything else kind of bugs me but that's just a "me" thing. His vote on Dunn seems to come out of left field for me and his certainty of scum really struck me as odd. At first I thought it was scum pushing on town Dunn to make it look like he was contributing but it actually now looks more like distancing to me. He knows his push is so ludicrous that it'll never get steam and people wil never think they are scum together. The post that sealed it for me is post 159. The whole if I'm wrong lynch me Schtick is played out. Nobody gets lynched for being wrong day 1 and even n00bs know that. I've seen scum do that in an attempt to make themselves look town.

No I said if you as simple questions you would get simple answers. Did you see what tool did? He basically asked me to explain why I'm scum reading him and guess what happened next? I responded to him. It's not my fault you are too stupid/lazy to figure out how to get me to talk.

I haven't twisted anything. What I did do is factually state things about you. Again with the lies. Will it ever stop? Yo I don't know.

As for the 3rd person. It's pretty obvious if you read my posts. Robert is the 3rd. He said he was scum last time we played and I figured he was scum but didn't get him lynched. He says I worry him this game which would imply that he's not town. If he was town why would I worry him? It's strange and I think that means he's probably scum. He's also hasn't really impressed me with his posts so it's still leaning scum on him.

I still don't understand why you are voting him myself. After his early absence he's made quite a few posts that make sense and shows he's got a good grasp of the game. The vote makes me think you are afraid of him which is odd cause he's not really made any mention of you in his posts. I see nothing scummy about his posts at all and don't think you've shown anything scummy he's done so yes it's very weird you voted him.

In post 268, heuristically_alone wrote:Because literally every post he has made has been

given up anything original on his own
. The only other posts he has made are 204-206 and 222, all of which he does the exact same thing. Just quoting others and giving a quick comment, but absolutely
saying nothing original or doing nothing to help the game
. 205 unvotes Jack, but that's that.

IMO, generic scum-reading buzzwords.

When I get to a computer I'll verify what he was saying but just reading his words at face value there's no way you can say he was insincere. His explanation has more detail then I would expect from scum. You can say it's not true but I'm not sure how you can say it's insincere. This also kind of confirms that you are afraid of him. He makes some points about you and you are threatened enough to vote him. That sounds like fear to me

I'm actually not wrong about reads lists at all. Clearly you don't know enough about how to play mafia and the art of manipulation. Being able to manipulate town is the best way to win as scum and the more info the scum has, the more they are able to manipulate town.

but town gains nothing from list reads imo. Nobody really cares who you think are town and null. It's a waste of time that could be spent better elsewhere. I have never won a game because somebody told me who they thought were town or null. I have never seen any game won because somebody told everyone who they thought were town or scum.

When a game is in mylo and town decides to NL (happens often) to get from even numbers to odd numbers do you know what they actually tell you NOT to do? They tell you not to give any reads because if you do mafia knows who they can kill and who they can leave alive for mislynches.

The same thing applies on each day phase. If scum knows who people think are scum and that person isn't one of them they leave that person alive to be mislynched later. People generally viewed as town are the people they target for nKs

without this info scum have to guess. so bottom line is don't give scum more info than they already have. Say who you think are scum and that's it. If you think somebody is town don't say anything unless it comes up as a direct question.

Wel had you been reading the game you would see me question voting for him and you would also see me say that he's made some pretty good points. That should lead you to the conclusion that I thought was pretty obvious. I don't think he's scum. I think he's probably town. If you are town (doubtful) please at least work on your reading comprehension. It's very important in this game.

The consensus at the time was Jake was scum/null I thought :?

I can't really remember but if he's not the largest vote getter there's no wagon. He only had 2 votes. If you are interested in opportunistic votes look at the ones piling on HA late.

@xyzz

Re:317- cause he was directly interacting with me and I was trying to get him to ask the right question and instead he changed his attention and never really talked to me again until after I made that comment. That to me seems like he decided to avoid me.

320 - I see no reason for any town to say "if I'm wrong lynch me" cause in this game town are wrong a lot. So yes there's a big difference and his comment was unnecessary and I've seen people write that off as a town tell before.

335-336 - those aren't bad posts with faulty logic. Try harder

Ignoring 359/361 cause it's not game related. My stance on list reads is one I've had way before this game and will continue way after this game (aka forever)

385 - definitely floof. He misrepresented ha's original vote and he is attacking him for voting his town read (pretty sure that's called something but can't remember what. Chainsaw maybe?) dunn's vote looks bad to me because he doesn't really give a reason. I don't really care if people don't give reasons but when that person took issue with me not giving one, to turn around and do the same thing himself is kind of scummy. It's also at this point that the HA wagon is starting to grow so yeah don't like those last 2 votes. But really I don't think anyone has made a good reason for their HA vote. Kaiser all but admitted he voted him because he made some points against keyser which just reeks of omgus (even though ha wasn't actually voting him at the time).

Btw Dunn leaves his scum read if bins and admits his vote was a bandwagon vote. That's basically admitting he's being opportunistic. A player should never leave their scum read just to bandwagon somebody else that you've never really given a read on (and I don't remember Dunn ever giving a read in ha)

@xxyy

First, wow that's a lot of work.
Second here's my responses.

169- see this post - http://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.ph ... 4#p7872874
201 - good thing I'm not posting to appease you. Don't really care what you or anyone else likes
229 - try again. I wasn't questioning the vote on zack. I was questioning the town read of Zach.
233 - this is an awesome post. Clearly you have poor judgement
235 - my apologies you were voting him but my point still stands. It wasn't a bandwagon vote.
241 - you clearly don't get what I was trying to do. Simpleton
243 - haven't you figured it out already simpleton? I'm not worried about how I look. Only scum have to worry about appearance. I just have to go out and play my game.
245 - sorry simpleton but I'm totally town. Being abrasive and hard headed isn't scummy let alone a scum tell so try again.
255 - first, I'm not required to be "helpful". Sure it's preferred but not required. Second, I'm not playing anti-town. Just cause you don't understand the concept of reaction testing that's not my issue simpleton. Learn to play more mafia games before you act like you know what you are talking about.
276 - just cause town should only concern themselves with finding scum doesn't mean they aren't allowed to comment on other things. Cmon bro.

The rest are already answerd.

Good night.

@zyzz - since you like asking questions so much, here's one for you. What are your thoughts about Robert saying he doesn't trust me and he needs to keep his eye on me when in fact by his own admittance the last time we played I was able to catch him (unfortunately not lynch him) as scum? Do you think if Robert was town he wouldn't have any reason to worry about me?

wow robert actually made a good point. I decided to fact check and now I want to ask HA a question.

@HA, can you explain why you think it's possible mafia is taking advantage of robert's early vote like you mention in these 2 quotes
In post 281, heuristically_alone wrote:irst off, I found it so strange that so many people read Jack so early on as scum or town based on his vote in post 13 against Robert. I think anyone voting him as an easy vote at the beginning makes for possible scum players, (Keyser, tool, floof for example), not that I'm saying that one of them HAVE to be scum.

In post 329, heuristically_alone wrote:I don't have any evidence that Jaack is town, and for me I feel like a mafia would be more likely to take advantage of Robert's weak vote at the beginning

to Robert is scum.

Please show me what caused that 180 because while you never actually say robert is town, it is very much implied you think he could be if you are looking for scum on his early voters.

You thought he would try to take revenge based on a previous game, but you're not surprised he doesn't remember that game?

and let's not forget about the fact that if he were town WHY would he be worried about me this game. If anyone can answer that question with rationale that actually makes sense (robert you can try also if you want) i'd love to hear it.

if robert is town, he should be relieved to be on the same side as me if he thinks I am a good player (thank you for the kind words btw)

In post 412, toolenduso wrote:
@jaack: Why did you want pressure on H_A specifically?

H_A is my number 2 scumspect after ira, and I didn't feel as if my vote on ira was accomplishing much (there's only so many times I can hear him call himself town).

So I was looking at the reasons you gave for HA and I kind of have some issues with it.

In post 357, Jaack wrote:h_a - Do not like his reads in 281 like at all. Says he doesn't have enough content to judge me fully (?), but feels everyone on my wagon is scummy. Reads to me like someone who knows I'm town and wants to leave as many option open in terms of a future lynch on me. (Keyser saw a similar thing in 311) If he doesn't participate on hypothetical future wagon, then he can point back here and say 'told you so' while also not committing to a full town read on me. Also don't like how he doesn't give reads on ira, dunn, or keyser in that post. He did give a read on ira earlier so I can kind of understand leaving that one out, but leaving out dunn and keyser is weird, as neither are exactly inactive, and h_a had even interacted with dunn significantly before that. If one of {h_a, dunn, keyser} flips scum its probably worth going back and checking out the other two based on this post alone, even though I'm townreading the other two players here pretty hard.

Looking over this.

First - His reads and your reads aren't that different. I mean sure there are some people he has scummy and you have as town and vice versa but it looks like a bunch of people you both sort of agree on. I am not sure why him having different reads than you makes him suspicious. Clearly not everyone is going to share your viewpoint so scum reading him for that is just plain stupid. here is what I put together comparing reads between the 2. The bolded names are where the reads are the same or pretty close to each other which makes me wonder if Jaack actually compared ha's reads to his own.

Spoiler:
Tyler - Town (Jaack & HA)

Keyser - Town (jack) scum (ha)
Tyler - both town
Dunn - both town
xyzzy - both town

zach - Town (Jack) Scum (HA)
tool - town (jack) slightly suspicious (ha)
Bins - Decently town (jack) - leaning scum (ha)
JFSF - both townish

Floof - Don't really give a read but I sense scummy vibes from Jack, leaning scum (ha)

Robert - neither really give a strong read but both seem mildly suspicious

ira - scum (jack) town (ira)

Second - I am not sure what about his post makes you think he knows you are town, but he did say he has you in his town pile so i don't see why you have such an issue with him looking at the people voting you for scum. Seems like you should be doing the same thing yourself (no idea if you actually did or not)

Third - yes Kaiser made the same mistake as you did and it actually looks like you just stole Keyser's thought about him knowing you are town. There is absolutely nothing wrong with somebody thinking a player is town and questioning people on that wagon. Keyser calls it conf. bias but so what, people do it all the time and there isn't really anything suspicious about it. How either of you come to the conclusion that he somehow KNOWS you are town is beyond me.

Fourth -
In post 357, Jaack wrote:Also don't like how he doesn't give reads on ira, dunn, or keyser in that post.

why didn't you ask him for them? Anyways as you mention he does give a read on ira previously (town). he also gave a read on Dunn (town), and also for keyser (while he doesn't actually come out and say town or scum, he basically adds on to Dunn's read of Keyser from post 82 where dunn says he thinks keyser is mafia. I believe he also thinks keyser is mafia because he provides reasons for why dunn has come to that conclusion.

So in a nutshell - You and ha have very similar reads, I see nothing that makes it seem like he KNOWS you are town but has you as a town read, and he does basically give a read on everyone.

I don't think heuristically_alone would do that while scum-aligned as a relatively new player.

He may be a new to this site player but he's not a new to Mafia player (I don't even think he's a new to this site player personally. I think he's an alt account)

That's not how a weak (not week) role works. The modifier you just described is macho (can't be protected by protective roles)

This is a Normal game which has to use Norma modifiers so you want to try that again?

But the modifier makes sense now with two protective roles. But it's a moot point. If both are town, they are both outed now. Witch hurts the town.

I don't have a night action.

So you aren't really weak (against site normal guidelines to be what you say you actually are with what you are claiming to be)

And you aren't macho.

Question is what are you and why lie about it?

Trying to find where you have scum reads day 1, I don't see where you did at all. Which is interesting since you asked at least one person for their reads but never really gave any of your own(if I'm mistaken please link me but on my phone I couldn't see it. )

I also don't like the unnecessary apology for tunneling zach. Looks like scum that's too self aware of how they're playing.
Meh I don't think he's scum. The whole role pm was weird but scum isn't going to out themselves like that as their partner is about to be lynched.

What's the scum motivation for this? If scum is about to be lynched why would scum out themselves like that? They wouldn't.

The fact nobody hopped on Robert doesn't mean anything either. Ha's lynch was a done deal the moment a cc happened. No scum would risk exposing themselves by hopping onto Robert

Dude you aren't using common sense right now and that bolded doesn't make him look scummy. Trust me I think his claim is weird but there's literally no reason for him to make it as scum. I thought he was scum also But when I apply logic and common sense I just don't see scum intent. We can just agree to disagree I guess.

Dunn is the one who should be looked at. He at one point said he thought that ha was town and then did a 180 saying that posts after he claimed were scummy but I looked over those posts and didn't really see anything after he claimed that was so scummy. I think he realized that lynch was inevitable and decided to buss. Plus he's said multiple things that just wasn't true. He's not trustworthy and is probably scum.

How to pressure:
Vote without a reason
Never explain why while blindly defending another guy
Again, never actually pressuring with anything and just trying to get a bandwagon going
Have not even Zach follow your vote who you thought would be gauranteed
That's not how you pressure people. Maybe you should change your strategy?

Do you have short term memory loss? At least twice maybe 3 times day 1 I accused you of saying things that weren't true. Today the post that you made that was obviously your attempt to accuse me of things I weren't doing were mostly untrue as well.

In post 758, Dunnstral wrote:You were wrong every time day 1 too, I've basically accepted that every game I enter at least one person will randomly hard tunnel onto me without a real reason

short term memory loss = something that happened 3-4 days ago

When did I accuse you of doing things you weren't? Post 726? Here the thing: you were doing all of that. I was just pointing it out, I didn't say you were mafia for it and I don't think that
I was wrong none of the times day 1.

And yes post 726.

You are correct that I voted without reason. That's my thing and you really need to get over it at this point.
You are incorrect that I was blindly defending especially because I explained why I was defending Robert.
You are correct that I'm not pressuring anything with my one vote. Nobody can pressure with just 1 vote though. I can at least try by placing my vote on who I think is scum
You are incorrect in saying that I thought zach's vote was guranteed. I'm not even sure how you could even say what I'm thinking with such certainty. I didn't actually have Zach on my mind at all when I voted you.

So half of your post is factually wrong and 1 part while factually correct is actually impossible for anyone to do

I haven't read the entire thing but that post by tool is pretty good on the parts I've read. Kudos sir. I wish I was able to put in that kind of effort to games. I sure hope you are town. If you are scum I'm doubly impressed.

Why are you voting Dunn Jake? I'm honestly surprised there isn't a vote on me yet.
I explained already. I think he's scum. His reactions surrounding ha felt nervous. The way he did a 180 based only on his posts after his claim felt weird because I didn't read them as scummy. Also if you remember back he didn't even have a reason for his original vote on him (funny since he gave me shit for not providing reasons for my votes. It's very hypocritical of him to go and do it himself and still act like people have to provide reasons). He voted HA when a couple other votes piled on and he was all like "we are bandwagoning ha" when he had no reason to even be on the wagon.

Feels like he felt a shift coming and people he probably were town reading were voting him so he joined on early so it wouldn't look like bussing

Literally nothing Dunn resembles town. Plus the way he voted ha out of the blue for no reason whatsoever when the wagon was forming screams bus vote. Once the cc happened he was trying to act like ha was town and then he pulls some 180 on him again.

That's scum bro, 100% scum

Look I even left off the lying and being a hypocrite stuff out. If I include those that is definitely more proof.

Yes zakk shouldn't have posted before getting his role pm but he did. That's more the mod's fault. Using that against zakk in this game is slimy as hell and no townie should do that. Attacking a player who just got his role pm for not doing anything and not giving that player time to catch up is also slimy as hell.

I get that a lot thanks

Unfortunately for you everyone else thinks I'm town and your entire case on me is in your head so I suspect you'll be rather disappointed when you realize that yes, I'm just town you tunneled on.

@Bins why do you think I claimed VT? Don't answer that, just think about it
Still trying to act like I haven't provided any reasons why I'm scum reading you. How cute.

You do realize that people can actually see I've provided reasons right? You saying they don't exsist doesn't make it true.

If people need me to treat them like they are in preschool and actually quite everything I need to show why you should definitely not be town read I can but I really shouldn't have to since I've already explained multiple times where to look.

Let's not forget early on you attacked Jaack for his vote on ha (among other things) and when someone else votes him for not posting you come to his defense.

Once ira claimed there was a tone in your post that seemed like you were open to exploring other options (throwing dirt on bins and even that all 3 were town)

As for who else is Mafia? Idk too many shit posters making it hard to decide. If I could somehow summon the power of day vig I'd eliminate bins for sure. If he's town his play is atrocious imo. Also anyone who thinks Robert is scum probably deserves to be shot as well and is possibly Mafia trying to capitalize on his mistake.

I'm not really following the game until you are lynchhed so I probably can't answer anything else.

So you didn't accuse ha of that but you accused floof. Either way it wasn't really true and that actually makes you look worse. 2 different people vote HA and you go after them. Ha flips scum and you are still going after the floof slot. You actually do the thing you accuse others of but have no reason. You say today you had a scum read in HA yet there's no actual evidence of it. What there is evidence of is you chainsaw defending HA instead.

Well you could argue that his "why not just full claim" comment as an attempt to get me to figure out if I'm actually a pr or somebody who's just confident in his reads. Anyone who knows me though will know I can get pretty hard headed once I make my mind up on my reads.

Eh...I just can't really wrap my head around the mindset where somebody would think that would work and get the PR to out themselves or drop a big hint or something.

Also I think you missed this question from me earlier:

Kind of weird, kind of hard to put into words especially without going back and reading them again but I don't think they really reveal much. I think dunn's actions were more telling. But I've covered that

Has anyone even made a case on zakk? I swear I haven't seen a single convincing peice of evidence on him plus he basically stayed on ha's wagon all day. I've seen hard core bussing before and this didn't even look like it to me.

If zakk is scum I'm probably going to quit Mafia cause I would have been fooled not once but twice in the same game

Ok so let's see.

Tyler's vote came after one of those iso summaries I used to do so well. Problem is you can do that to easily manipulate anyone and I even did them as town convincing myself somebody was scum only they weren't. Ignore. Next

Dunn - ignore he's scum and I doubt he's bussing at this point.

Zakk - in the post he made when he voted zakk he only has 1 line. He says his lack of content feels deliberate.

That's 0-3 guys if this were baseball it would be a strike out...

Next is tool who I've had trouble getting a strong read despite his many wordy posts. Oh damn another iso analysis? Shit I had such high hopes from tool. Oh wait it's not really an Iso analysts it's a rundown on how floof joins the wagon. I think this is actually a god post however it's ruined by the favt tool doesn't like that zakk is trying to lynch scum while people are trying to lynch him.

Last is Jaak - his eh why the hell not attitude really rubs me wrong. With so much time in the day there's no reason to give up his top scum reads and vote his 4th.

If zakk flips town jaack is definitely scum imo which would make jaack/Dunn the scum pair left. Is that possible? Yeah I guess it could be
