my reasoning for not committing to a specific opinion on Dunnstral so far is two-fold

im not sure if you're missing the point here or what but i think it's perfectly fine to not be comfortable with commiting to stances this early on especially when it comes to erratic players like dunnstral

and keyser sorta beat me to the punch here a bit; but what would really help is if you walked everyone through your thought process behind what initially prompted those questions and explain how if you thought that dunnstrals behavior was scummy what about his responses lead you from that to what now appears to be a null read

there's more than one way to look at this post - if you're like me and didn't realize that state farm was talking about his name actually being robert then the tone is just all wrong and looks a lot like scum being cautious and trying to look town early

Bins says that if Dunn was scum-aligned, he would've dropped the joking front and became more serious after he was called out for it. I don't think this is true.

I think that this kind of WIFOM logic is used by scum-aligned players to justify their reads on players who are acting oddly, because they know what their alignment really is.

In this example, I was accusing Bins of knowing that Dunnstal was town-aligned, and using his erratic behavior as evidence to support this when it could support any justification, so Bins' inner bias and scum-aligned knowledge is showing.

I disagree with this. After h_a's claim, ira was the most likely lynch by a decent margin. Claiming now would buy scum-ira a day (and in the very unlikely event they're scumbuddies, 2+ days)

looking back on it, a lot of the pressure on both ira and h_a started with Keyser, so a careful reading of Keyser's ISO seems very worthwhile, and I'll definitely do that soon; given the whole issue of him voting for h_a early on even though ira was the more logical vote based on the reasoning he presented in the thread, I... well, I'm not sure how I feel about it; I'll have to think about that.

I think in general yesterday I was playing really paranoid, and pushing too hard on the "you're not helping the town, so you're scum" angle on Zachstralkita; he's another person whose ISO I'd like to reassess.

first quip seems strange because it's like you've got (what looks like) a thought process going for a minute into just a hard waffle

Because literally every post he has made has been completely useless. Up to this point, he had only joined in post 55 voting Jack as mafia (a surprisingly large amount of people immediately read Jack as mafia or town based off of his simple post 13)

Then immediately in posts 56-58 and 79-81 just quotes what others are saying and maybe asks follow up questions without literally given up anything original on his own. The only other posts he has made are 204-206 and 222, all of which he does the exact same thing. Just quoting others and giving a quick comment, but absolutely saying nothing original or doing nothing to help the game. 205 unvotes Jack, but that's that.

@Dunnstral has been by far the most entertaining player for me to follow in this game so far. As for liking him, makes me want him to be town. Best proof I have of you being town is your response to post 34 by xyzzy.

How am I getting accused of derailing when we've been trying to get zakk lynched for a week and when he gets to l-1 3 people vote on someone else

maybe not derailing persay but like for someone who seemed to be okay with the zakk/xy day focus you're getting pretty meticulous about people's compromises with regards to their reads based on the composition of things surround those reads, with maybe an odd bins thrown in for good measure and im just trying to figure out what you're accomplishing from it

zach push has little push. He decided not to provide reasoning. I found him unconvincing, and honestly, scummy the way he did it. Its one of the reasons I suspect him now. He decided just to troll and say random shit when questioned about his vote. He makes me uncomterble and don't see how many think he's so town looking. I can't point to anything that makes him town.

im not sure that he'd of dropped it without so many of us starting to come around on zach; mostly because his entrance into day 2 was saying he wanted to look more into him and keyser

two people that i think were at the top of my list who looked better upon a ha scumflip so that sorta confused me, irked me almost i believe i touched on this

but at the same time i can kinda see where you're coming from with it; and maybe xy is the same way that you're still kinda stuck in a past era with where scum are all just some cardboard cutout of just antitown, or what in your opinion is just antitown

zachstralk is town; im almost at the point where id bet teh game on it and ive felt pretty good about him for a while

just his flow and how he's approaching things doesn't look like scum; his reads, the ones that he isn't stubborn af about for unknown reasons seem real and his tone is OK for the most part and just comes off natural; i think in your case it's just a matter of not having a radar to see that as well as others

xyzzy's push on zach day 1 is similar and ive not gotten enough of a feel (because of lack of engagement) if they're the same way or if they were scum looking for minor things like zach being "unhelpful"
