Page top for the hydra! It is possible -- indeed it is far more than probable -- that he was innocent of all participation in the bloody transactions which took place. The Ourang-Outang may have escaped from him. He may have traced it to the chamber; but, under the agitating circumstances which ensued, he could never have recaptured it. It is still at large.-

I similarly think FoS/IGMEOY/ALLNONVOTES are dumb aspects of the site meta that (thankfully) mostly faded way and I don't see as much now.
I think that town players rarely work very well when they simultaneously try to push lots of players at one time (even if they do entertain multiple possibilities). The result is that everything is disorganized and the thread is hard to follow. By contrast, FoS/IGMEOY makes it easy for scum to establish a record of "pressure" of whatever sort they like while having a benign effect on the VC.
If you want to just hang your AM on a scummy player to prevent your vote not being counted due to a quicklynch, I suppose that's fine. That's the most rational premature use I can think of. But it seems dumb to make a post about X player being so scummy and then to AMvote them. Just vote them if they're scummy.-

I disagree with you, homie.
Sometimes I want people to pay extra special attention to a slot I find suspicious, but also think there is a better lynch for that day (be that due to information or I just have two pretty good scum reads or w/e)

Gonna chirp in and say that I don't really do FoS and prefer to just use my actual vote as tangible pressure on slots.
For me, I'd rather just articulate why I find a slot scummy--serves the same purpose as FoS or whatever.
I also agree that trying to 'spread pressure' rather than focusing on one place at a time does get kinda whack, but you can also run the risk of tunneling and confbiasing yourself into oblivion.
At least, I know I have in the past.
This is Varsoon.

What do you think the significance of that observation would be?
Laying low would look worse on you than other players
But I forgot you were waiting for the mod to get back to you for something so back to square one I guess-

How frequently do you see miller claims turn out to be fake? Any time I've seen one, people get suspicious but it turns out to be legit.-

Well, there's being a bit zany, and there's being a bit zanyscummy, and your approach to the game feels like the latter.
But it would not surprise me if you were always that way.
I will probably rely to an extent on how other people who appear to've played with you react to what you're doing, because I have never read more content than is absolutely necessary, except for maybe twice.-

As I understand it, you only mutate if you are on the lynchwagon (regardless of the alignment that flips). This means that AM votes are useless if they aren't on lynchvoters. Just say you find someone suspicious and won't vote them if you want to...think someone is scum...and not vote for them....
You're correct that AM'd players can still use abilities the following night.
You should read the explanation post again. You only mutate when you're on the lynch wagon, yes.
But say I'm on the lynch wagon, and I'm also the AM vote for today. I'd be able to mutate tonight for being on the wagon, but the following day I likely wouldn't try too hard to be on the lynch wagon for the sake of it, because the following day I'd be unable to mutate.
I'm busy right now unfortunately, but it's an itch I need to scratch when I see players operating under a misunderstanding of the mechanics, so I wanna make sure everyone gets it.
Also, AMed players are never prevented from using their abilities, they're just prevented from gaining new ones from mutation the following Cycle.

That's how I read it too. My initial thought was simply vote your top scum read, AM your second highest scum read. But, I believe it was Edgar that noted that you'll usually want to lynch your second highest scum read the next day anyway, so what's really the point of the AM? Maybe it will be more useful toward end game, but at this point it seems like a crap shoot.-

Things change day to day. IMO lynches rarely progress smoothly from day 1 reads in order of scumminess. Scum have to dodge both lynches and AMs if they want power.Hydra of errantparbaobal and MaxwellPuckett. 97% ghost-proof, patent pending.
